Now i've seen a lot of posts about favorites, games, quotes, movies, etc. But not one for comedians. So, who is it for you? For me, i'll give you some of my tops...

    1. Christopher Titus/Bill Cosby
    2. Mike Birbiglia
    3. Jim Gaffigan
    4. Daniel Tosh
    5. Nick Swardson

So how about you guys and gals?

Daniel Tosh and Jim Gaffigan have to be my top two. Tosh came to my city in October, and it was awesome!

Titus is nowhere near the caliber of an orator Cosby is, but hey: that's your list, not mine.

I'm really impressed at how Tosh has progressed. I have a sampler CD from about 5 years ago where he was doing some really angry bits about Hurricane Katrina. I laughed my butt off when I first heard it.

Some of my current favorites are (feel free to Google them!):

    Todd Glass
Paul F Tompkins (from Mr. Show)
    Chip Chantry
Steve Gerben (tours with Paul Mooney whom you may remember from the "Ask a Black Guy" Chappelle's Show bits)
Dave Hill (a fixture at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre)

Brian Regan definitely. Keeps it clean and funny. Tosh is a close second.

It's really up to everyone's opinion. They're both story tellers, which is my favorite form of comedy. Bill basically created the story telling stand-up comedy, but Titus is exceptional at it. I couldn't really choose between the two even if I was forced to.

No need to google them, I'm a fan of every one of them.

I'd list some Australian ones but I don't think anyone would know them (McDermot, McManus).

But Drew Carey, J Stewart, Colin Mochrie and Ryan Styles, Conan and Jimmy Fallon. You know, the ones everyone likes.

I don't know many Aussie comedy acts aside from Axis of Awesome. I've never seen Drew Carey or Ryan Stiles on anything but Whose Line, but that show was fantastic.

These are my fave 2 as well.

You don't happen to live in NC do you?

I think Daniel came to Greensboro in October.

I've got a whole lot of googling & youtubing to do - I don't know any of the names
mentioned. Are they all American by any chance?
Rhod Gilbert or Ross Noble anyone? No? I guess no-one outside the UK has heard of them.

Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, Mitch H.

Classy comic, insult comic, stoner comic.

Tosh impressed me a few years ago too, have not followed him much though.

Ron White is pretty damn entertaining as well. Or was the last time I saw him anyway.

Finally someone mentions Mitch Hedberg. Got to see him when I was in college, less than a year before he died.

Bill Hicks is another great (dead) comedian. His story is pretty hilarious, I recommend checking him out.

I just remembered Australias best; Lano and Woodley. I'm guessing I'll ruin the thread by starting, but. I just found that one 10 minutes ago and have no idea why I haven't watched it before.
