what was the point of ever anouncing it would be 40 on launch if it'll never be that price at all? I liked the idea that kickstarting had advantages.

And no, a giant community does not have any kind of advantages.

What price drop, there is no price drop for release. The Galactic Edition has received a price drop because the Alpha period is more than half over. It has no bearing on the Release price.

I expect when Beta is half over it'll drop to 50$ from 60$ but that doesn't' mean a thing to the release price.
