Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m OK, but the main point here is that lots of potential beta testers (which possibly include press medias) are expecting for something quite well polished even if lacking some kind of optimization. how can one really seriously believe that in it's current state, the game will be able to run/render multi planets in the same game, with a decent (even if not perfect) performance and with enough content to make it attractive to beta players ? I have no doubt that Uber is the right studio to build such a game, but this does not mean one has to be blindlly optimistic regarding the current state of the game and what will be its state when beta starts. The game state must reach a point where it's enough attractive to have more players joining beta. That's why i do not understand why alpha is not lasting much more time. Uber people are skilled people but they are not magicians. I hardly understand how they could manage to switch the game from its current state to something which is very well received by beta players.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m Then they're idiots who don't know what Beta actually means. We should not be pandering to idiots.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m Every beta I have been a part of the game has been more polished than this current build, I have to say though that I doubt the current build will be the Beta one. Beta's I have been in. (Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942, SC1 + FA, Arma 2, Arma 3, BF2, BF3, MWO, I await for Star Citizen and this) We don't know what goes on behind closed doors and they may have a usable working multi-planet Beta almost ready, or a more polished one. It wouldn't make any difference to me anyway, I'm not fussed as long as we get a working quality game in the end, I have a hopeful feeling the Beta will be good though.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m Guys the game is already fully functional, just not in this dimension. I know for a fact that Uber possesses the multi dimensional time jumper. They completed the game a long time ago but now they have a community and whatever we say they fix in the final game and in December we will see their game combined with our suggestions. Don't worry bro, they got this.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m I was under the impression that Uber got quite some additional money from the Steam sales (and will probably get more once beta hits) so they may be able to push the release back and keep the development going a little longer. I am optimistic about this
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m They already did that by 6 months, the original release was slated for summer 2013. Mike
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m But that was because they hit all stretch goals on kickstarter which require more development time.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m The only dates besides release in Dec., September for beta and start of alpha that we have been given have been the dates of live streams. They have avoided telling us when features will be ready, patches will land, etc. etc. If they gave us dates I think it means they're fairly confident on their plan. And see steam early access for "people wont understand it being different" issues stopping Uber.
Re: Yesterday newsletter states alpha really ends within 1 m And if they did not, we already know that the original deadline was impossible to met. It kind of prove the opposite
