I've never used them, but don't GM's just sell Steam keys bought from other countries? Are Steam keys even region-locked?
Does it sell you a gift version? Because that might be why. I think you can gifts. Basically I'm dumb!
I don't know. I think they might be now. But indeed as squishy said they're probably 100% gifts by now. and those are probably not region capped
There are some grey market sites that give you the option of buying the game and receiving it as a gift from a bot. From the site that I occasionally use, most of the time you'll get keys that are usable worldwide with separate Russian only keys being the only exception I've seen.
I wonder if the dev team were sad when Euro Truck Simulator overtook it as a top seller on Steam (absolutely nothing against XCOM 2, it looks amazing, just quipping) Also as much of a pain as I know the Aussie game market is, I really advise against dodgy-ish sellers simply for your own benefit. Keys can be revoked at any time and often the same key is sold to multiple people, leading to whoever activates it first benefitting. Not all sites (hashtag "not all sites") do this, but it's something to be aware of in this day and age. Steam key scandals are getting more common.
I'd suggest you visit Kinguin, I've never given it a go myself but it used to be a very big CSGO partnered team. And they're sponsoring many maaaany twitch channels and etc. So I'd imagine it should be legit. Prices seem nice as well. *shrug*
Kinguin's prices are still at roughly the 50-60 dollarydoo mark. Except for the ultra-dodgy lokking russian VPN option. I wann it so bahd.

Right. So I have failed at commander difficulty eleven times in the past week and only recently got to the final mission. I get to the final room in the last mission and.... LIGHTSHOW. Psychedelic flashing and rainbows. If I had epilepsy I would be drooling on the floor in a seizure. Thinking that restarting xcom will fix the issue, I saved the game and loaded it after a fresh start. Surprise! My save is corrupted because I let one of my mind minions die to a Crissy, who created a very annoying cocoon, which I then killed, which corrupted the save. Even outside of the battlefield, crissies still find a way to **** up everything. Holy cow. Guess I'm replaying the last mission lol.
