"it looks like a DVD player" Ladies and gentlemen, the insights of my brother. I'm not watching because my living room is filled with the sounds of Betolfeeld Tree on the TV, but at least from what I've cursory read they still sorta realize people want to play videogames.
That's the name? That makes things so confusing. I didn't know there was a stream, I woulda watched it, but from what I'm reading it looks better. Wonder if they're gonna run IE on this rig, too. Really liking the ability to run two things at once and a built in PVR, those things used to cost tons. It's kinda interesting, REALLY hoping not to start an argument, but you see these features and think they're good, for consoles, then you realize that computers have most of these features. Also, I remember hearing about it a long time ago, but did the stream say anything about the Used Games thing? That once you buy a game and use it on your xbox, you won't be able to use it on another xbox?
So horrible, is the original Xbox now called the Xbox Classic? When I went to google the Xbox One the first thing that came up was Xbox One Year Membership
I don't believe they mentioned it, unless I missed that. The content there was really just showing off the Xbox, Kinect and controller, then talking about sports for half an hour before ending on CoD Ghosts where they got us hyped on last gen technology and a dog.
Xbox One sounds very "Hey kids! We're cool and modern n sh*t!" I'm willing to bet someone got paid thousands to come up with it. /cynic
Ah, there's the answer. Also fun fact that my friend noticed; during the conference, Sony's stocks went up by almost 10% while Microsoft's dropped by 2%.
True, though it's already equalized, and both companies are well up on their 52 week moving averages. Microsoft almost 10 points, Sony roughly 10 points as well. (Though for Microsoft that's only a 35% spice, for Sony it's almost doubled - But Sony also has a market cap an order of magnitude lower than MS.
As the original and 360 never really captured my attention beyond Halo, I'm not really paying much attention to it but have been skimming some reddit threads on it. As far as the used game thing goes: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/05/x ... -analysis/ If you'd like to skim it like me, basically all games will have required installs tied to an xbox account. A fee can be paid to use it on another account. This is not "explicitly" talking about used games, so I might be jumping the gun, but it seems like something along those lines will happen. Also seems the "Always online" thing isn't a requirement but they wish it would be.
They prolly realized that 1,2,3,4 works better than Xbox,Xbox 360, Xbox ??, So they are giving it a second try.
I love the hype when new gens of consoles are coming. Whether they live up to it or not, it's still fun to see what the companies have whipped up.
So, people are supposed to buy a badly ventilated PC that cannot be upgraded and has a camera and mic pointed at you at all times? Sounds like fun. Sorry, I'll pass.
