would updating my graphics card help the Leviathan issue?

No problem with the 370. That's first gen gcn core (same gen as my 280). The issue is specific to 3rd gen gcn- so the 285, 380, 380X, nano, fury and fury x cards.

All other cards in the 300 series are based on gen 1 / gen 2 gcn and these cards don't have this problem.

Edit: safe amd cards for PA from 300 series: r7 360 (gen 2), r7 370 & 370x (both gen1), r9 390 and r9 390x (both gen 2).

Also the whole 200 series is fine (except for the 285).
