[WIP] A different take on Strategic Icons

    So, best as I can tell, the "white" on the Icons does nothing; it just assumes the same colour as your primary (yellow on these icons). Also, too many colours (or perhaps just too many off-white colours) will cause the Alpha Channel to not render correctly and be replaced with your Primary colour... again.

    So, while I have a few more tests to do, I can confirm that the "highlights" on these icons are non-functional in game; which is a shame.

    Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like when you have 100 or so of them all next to each other?

    Will do soon. However, because this Icon-pack is designed to work well with RCBM, rather than the vanilla game, such a conglomeration of units is a much rarer occurrence. Regardless of that though, I shall post a screenshot as soon as I don't have "error" icons over half the units that I haven't done yet.

    After that, I'll go through the priority list and alter which units render on-top of others...

    ...

    Sweet Jebus those look good. The only thing I would say is that the adv bomber and the adv fighter are a bit out of scale. Either the former needs to be bigger, or the latter needs to be smaller. Aside from that, I look forwards to getting these working in game.

    Actually it does stop there; that's all the mobile units there are in RCBM.

    I have tried the icons in the game and they look awesome. A lot easier to read than the regular units, in my opinion. The only problem is that AI offers no challenge for me, so any screenshots I post would only have like 5-10 units in them.

    As far as the visibility of fabbers goes. The big black wrench does stick out nicely it seems.

    Are you willing to wait for 5-10 minutes to start game? The death of my 400W PSU and a downgrade has really hurt my already poor performance. I'll probably be ordering a new PSU tomorrow, though.

    We are skipping structures for now seeing as Uber's icons for these are a lot easier to read. There's also the fact that building don't move and are much less likely to surprise you.

    These icons are now out on PAMM if you want to check them out. Currently they only work in conjunction with RCBM (for now).

    I'd like to note that I'm not opposed to working on structure Icons but, for right now, I'm not entirely sure of what perspective I'd want to "render" them from in pixel form. Structures aren't always distinct from the same angle, so I'd have to jump around; a big no-no when it comes to consistency.

    I'll continue to look for options. I'll let you know when I think of something cool.

    Isometric... is an option... I suppose...
