Hello again. Today I have something a little different to show you; my completed (for mobile units) Strategic Icons. Thanks for all the feedback so far. I'll continue working on these as necessary and as new units are added (by either RCBM or Uber).

The inner OCD inside me is complaining that some icons are a front perspective of the unit, while others are top down.

    But I like the style.

That's intentional. Tanks are more distinctive from a top-down perspective, while bots are most distinctive when viewed from the front. It creates a distinction between the two also, making them less likely to be confused at a glance.

What's really important is; are they clearly identifiable as the unit they are supposed to represent?

They are easy to learn and identify, I like it. That would be nice to have some special trait for fabbers though like those plus sighs or maybe diagonal lines like they have on models.

I'll definitely consider it. Some of the fabricator models (especially the Vehicle Fabricator) doesn't have a clean outline, making it a lot more difficult to identify at a glance.

How about making the lathe of the fabbers always green?

    I like them.
I always struggle with the default icons since they are too abstract and don't resemble their represented units whatsoever.

Wow, loving then Nano, easy to understand and see. I'm surprised I haven't seen complaints about them being "too complex." Great little aesthetic, I'd use a mod for the icons if you ended up completing the roster. :D

Very, very nice. Though I wonder what they'd look like in large numbers.

That's what I'm most interested in.

Particularly large numbers of a mixed army.

I think you may have a problem of expectations vs. reality there. Try to photoshop them onto each unit here:
    Untd.jpg
rule of thumb with icons :

    smaller is better.

other that that, yes shoot. I like them.

    1. In that screenshot the bots are clipping into each other, that is not working as intended. Without that it would look considerably better.

    2. These icons are being made primarily for RCBM. In RCBM units are a lot less spammy.

I am not dismissing your point, but there are mitigating factors.

It's probably worth getting a screenshot to show what they look like ingame. That might happen tonight.

I'll work on another set of 4. I'll post them when I'm done.
    Any requests for something specific?
