Cola Colin had multi screen working at some stage. Believe he stopped working on it due to pip errors which I think have been fixed and also performance. Surely could be modded again.

I agree with this. Forged Alliance had it.

2nd Monitor made for a hella lot better minimap then a dinky lil window XD

ITs an optional feature that doesnt make gameplay different for people. Doesnt change how good units are or anything. Just helps monitor stuff. Tis what I said earlier.

So we're getting into semantics then? I did said it doesn't change the gameplay as much as how the player plays the game.

In reality what this breaks down into is the idea that Multiple Monitors results in a Better UI. That is what you said, having a second screen for a "minimap" is better than a tiny window in a single screen, right?

    Mmhmm.

Having a 'minimap' on a seperate screen would let players have a better view of the game only. Thats the only thing that would change.

And thus you're saying that you don't believe it would result in a player being able to play better then?

It shouldnt change how a person plays a game. It might be a minor UI advantage, but it wouldnt change a players skill.

But it changes how efficiently a player's skill can be applied to the game. It's like playing competitive 52-card pick-up when you have to ski mitts while your opponent doesn't, it doesn't change how good your strategy are, just how well you can pick up cards.

    Practice makes perfect.

I use multiple monitors for SupCom:FA, but doesnt make me a better player. I just cant stand to look at such a tiny window for a minimap.

Give the players the option. Limiting features because of the lowest common denominator we may as well just turn in our PC's and play consoles. They are all the same. Just because I get crud on the bottom of my mouses feet doesn't make me scream imba for those who don't...

I never said it makes you a better player. I said it makes it easier to play the game.

Lets try a different example, imagine you had 2 equally skilled players, but one had just the mouse to play with and the other had mouse and keyboard. they're both good players, but one is handicapped due to his input mechanism.

Its the same with monitors except it's not the player's input that's hampered, but the Game's Visual output that the player reacts/interprets to is hampered in a 1 Monitor VS 2 Monitor context.

I'm cool with the way the game can run fullscreen with two monitors and not screw up the second screen. Do you know how many games I run through DxWnd to avoid that issue?

Of course it helps, what are we getting at here? That having 2 monitors shouldn't give you a sneaky skill boost? Like extra mouse and kb buttons, better computer, desktop fan etc etc.

The point is that Brandon thinks it doesn't give any benefit.

srsly 2nd monitor support made an awesome game even awesomer.
Supcom still feels like an RTS game from the future in 2014.

You created a pocket universe with an alternate timeline for each of these?
