As long as we're being the Grammar-Shpellingshtapo here...From a translation standpoint either one would be viable. ?????(basically "Centaurus") is the original name, knock off the Ke(?) and N(?) at the first and you're left with tarosu(???) which can translate into either the more Greek-ish Tauros or Latin-y Taurus. There's also the rare alternate Japanese spellings of ??? and even ????, but since non-Japanese words put into Katakana are almost exclusively spelled phonetically(and often based on obsolete pronunciations at that: hence a K sound turning into soft C sound) ??? is more or less the only way you're going to see "tauros" or "taurus" written in Japanese. Unless you're talking about actual constellations, that may be a different story. EDIT: Actually, ????? should probably just be translated as "centaur" period. It fits more with the ancient Greek form of the word rather than the more-modern "centaur" anyways...So...meh.
The only thing I remember about that new Tauros besides his rather cheap design is that it basically justifies their new move called Afro Break. Or Afro Break justifies the new Tauros. Not that it's a good justification. A lot of pokemon reflect the Pokemon Team's idea of redoing the first generation so they retread a lot of tired and bland designs. Still, I'm looking forward to this one... Com'on! Doesnt ghost/fire sound at least a little cool?
Shandera is actually pretty good. Watch some competitive videos here. http://www.youtube.com/user/kingdaddydmac Why? Did you do this?
I'll ask before watching all the videos: I know Shandera has something to the tone of the highest sp. attack for a non-legendary/uber pokemon and can have Shadow Tag as an ability from Dream World. Has anyone gotten a Shandera from the Dream World and competed with it yet? Imagine your opponent using a fighting type that's shown his entire move set during the game and you throw out a Shandera with Shadow Tag. What a jerk move. A jerk move that works. Also, I think the Japanese name was Bafuran or something? I didn't bother remembering it for obvious reasons though.
For Pokemon, sure. Ghost types always did seem like the cooler ones of the lot. But then there was that Muuma/Misdreavus/whatever...Pure ghost sounds soooo much better than that thing looks :| Because it's always a great idea to go out of your way to be smug for no reason while dealing with insomnia. Looks like the Japanese name would be Chandeler to me. Yes, chandelier without the I :| Hmm...I haven't bothered with anything Pokemon since Emerald. Maybe at some point I'll save up for the inevitable 3DS edition. It is rewarding to learn the battle system even if it is a kids game
Muuma? That psychic type baby elephant thing? Agreed, boring. Muuma as in that pure ghost sarcophagus? It's ability sounds interesting. Mummy: Whenever a pokemon with this ability is hit by a physical attack, the attacker receives this ability. I'm guessing you meant the psychic elephant though cause I thought its name was Muuna.
Dammit. I don't like looking at the Pokemon Wikia at all. Not one bit T.T I feel as out of place reading it as I would getting a cash bribe from...anyone. *checks* This thing. Hated it. Awful stats. And WOW. Pokemon became even more complex than I recall. Crazy man, crazy.
But wait. It sucked before for no reason, sure. But it sucks now because it got an evolution so it's stats suck because it hasn't evolved yet. The evolution is a decent special stat oriented pokemon. Plenty of better pokemon than it sure, but it learns both mean look and perish song, so you have potential for gimmicky set ups.
Meh. Everything that could learn Mean Look and Perish Song as of Emerald sucked. Gengar is the only ghost type worth bothering with, though those last two(#622 and #623...damn that's a lot of mons) sound pretty fun with their No Guard ability. Ghost types always had a habit of sucking against worthwhile opponents unless they somehow used nothing but physical moves.
Sorry, but last I played Pokemon I tore up every ghost I encountered with a Slaking Never had an issue there.
I frigg'in love Duskinoir. Such a fun wall to mess with people. Low HP + High Defenses + Pain Split = commence the raging on unprepared foes.
