I hope this means the "something good" announcement is coming soon.

    That announcement was hiring Sorian.

This thread is just old and cluttered. =P

Wrong "something good just happened". He posted another "something good just happened" after the sorian one.

    What's blowing your mind?

Hopefully it’s news of a terrain deformation engine with dynamic fluids. Perhaps you saw a sneak peak of units syphoning large quantities of water into elastic bladders—like massive blood sucking tics—you continued to watch as an armada of these units sucked a water planet dry (stranding naval units), and later released their payload onto a desert planet (drowning land units). Perhaps that's what blew your mind?

Or maybe… Maybe you saw engineers excavating artificial canyons and building earth-sheltered base structures into the narrow canyon faces. You watched as attackers pushed into the narrow canyon—running the gauntlet of automated defenses and swarms of robots pouring from the hollow walls. The attackers, realizing their hopelessly outmatched—but now armed with the location of the enemy base—fire a suicidal volley of tactical missiles to a weak point on the canyon ridge, a massive chunk of earth crashes down entombing the doomed attack force along with a portion of the defenders base.

Or perhaps you realized that the scale nesting of Planets > Moons > Asteroids > Units can keep going in both directions, and with five extra lines of code invented an entire additional game mode where micro-harvesters crawl around in the wreakage of larger units, salvaging critical components while the battle raged around them. The metallic structure itself a-swarm with the nano-deconstructors, themselves competing with the degrading latent defenses of the once powerful unit, now actively disintegrating into the siphon of the nearby engineer. This entire drama played out on the surface of a metallic world, itself a decayed and dysfunctional weapon, now only a husk, ringing faintly like a bell of doom to the clapper of the ongoing conflict.

Since sorian was exciting about it, I guess it is connected to AI.
Maybe they find a way to sandbox the binary mods.
