Why not have forums for the alpha backers and then merge it to include beta backers later. This is what happened for sins of a solar empire: Rebellion, thought it helped streamline the reporting of bugs and glitches. Not to mention developers of PA could release information to people registered for alpha and beta testing to ensure that any dev post isn't taken out of context or taken as "set in stone" by external parties...

    Das Vunderbar!

Such mods will be able to be taken online though?

I'm not an Uber employee of course, but I don't see any reason why not given we will be able to host our own servers if we so desire : )

Yeah, we will have official games, and we will have randys hosting their own games with mods in them.

Whatever mods the host has is probably what mods the server will run. If the server is running a model mod, it will probably let custom models in.

Should be neat. I will probably play a lot of unofficial, always like those more in games. I play like the most unofficial servers in C&C Renegade, including Crazy CTF, which involves a lot of units given flying and stealth and trying to snipe an invisible flying person carrying a flag out of the sky lol. Fun, not sure about balance but the balance seems to work.

ALSO, I know we were talking about a backers only forum. Really, if someone had the interest to track down the stuff the backers get to see, wouldn't you say they probably have an understanding of a game's "progress" enough to properly digest what exactly they are seeing? Jw about how hidden this information needs to be, the press sure as hell shouldn't post it on a site or magazine, but people digging for it probably shouldn't be denied.

What I am saying is, would you consider making some alpha content viewable to players who want to see it and like this game but didn't back, as long as they agree to not digress any of it by clicking an agreement before entering? Or, release an interesting share of early content to public via video updates as you have been doing?

I adore the metal planet concept (still use it as my wallpaper), and if that's the art style you guys are ultimately shooting for, I'm very excited.
