    In your opinion. In my opinion the Dox is inferior in every way including the pew pew gun noise.

    And btw.: Flash > Ant

    Whats really missing are the standard units. Theres no point in implementing some niche units while the most basic stuff is way off. Id pretty much support the "all" statement.

    But to add to your list: A torpedo bomber has to be in there, a ship with good sonar, aircraft carrier,...
    Arti bot for T1 like Hammer or Thud and a flame or lightning thrower bot.

    REbalance? That somehow implies that there is or once has been some kind of balance but the current state, to me, seems more like numbers entered in textfiles at random.

    We already got all units,we dont need moore.
    I think all happy .

    Well then im happy with all units we got ,we already have so many diferent units to use in field ,that i think its moore then enouth .
    And we have so many options to use on field that i dont think we need more units!

    I even buy a special book ,to write the big amount off options this game have,so i dont forgot all.:cool:

    And what basis do you have for thinking that?

    You think that we have more than enough units? There are only six Tanks and five Bots!
    And two of each are basically copies of eachother!

    Something like the CZAR from supreme commander, for interplanetary transport of aircraft, as well as the unit cannon seen in the trailer. Air transports I also feel is a must and making these loadable onto the aforementioned CZAR will allow ground armies to be fielded through interplanetary space. Another unit/building I feel would be useful would be something to destroy, or at least mitigate, the damage caused by incoming asteroids (like the nukes fired in the trailer), a form of tactical missile defence I would also welcome. Gunships T1 and T2 would be useful for early game base defence as well as supporting ground units late game. Naval aircraft carriers could find a use on large ocean planets a non nuclear T2 submarine invisible to RADAR but not SONAR for anti ship operations I would certainly enjoy, giving me reason to actually build SONAR stations.

    Most other units I can think of have either already been suggested or would fall into the experimental category of supreme commander, i.e. galactic colossus territory.

    For those that are saying "all units are missing" - well obviously there are many units in the game already so I take it to mean they think the balance is so poor that the existing units don't count.

    I don't agree of course, but if Nanolathe or OrangeKnight have made decent posts somewhere about what they think balance should be then I would love to be referred to them. I suspect they dont exist.

    What has any of this got to do with balance? The fact that the balance IS poor doesn't mean that there aren't units missing from the roster. I claim that 'all the units are missing' because we currently have six tanks and five bots, two of which are carbon copies of each other (AA) and another two of which are basically the same thing (Arti) and two of which are just upgraded versions of the basic ones (Ant --> Leveler, Dox --> Slammer)

    So, in actuality we have only four ground unit types... just four.
    Planes? Scout, Fighter and Bomber; three plane types.
    Ships? Scout, Frigate, Destroyer, Sub, Catapult Ship, Nuke Sub; Six Ship types.
    I don't count the upgraded versions of the bot, tank, plane and ship to be a different type of unit; it's just a more expensive, better version.

    There are basically twelve mobile unit types in the entire game so far.
    Every single one of them is the driest, least imaginative implementation of a unit, that I think we'd be better off scrapping everything but the art and starting again from scratch.

    It would be funny that any person could consider this roster even close to complete, if it weren't so tragic.

    My fervent hope is that, when the core engine features are implemented, all of the units will be substantially reworked into something that approaches some form of fun; that each of the units would have some kind of soul injected into their design rather than what's on offer now.

    It's not about the units being imbalanced. It's about the units just sucking in general.

    (Don't get me started on orbital... let's just not go there, ok? or this thread will be locked due to excessive levels of rage.)

    For the record there are actually too many places to list in which either KNight or myself have weighed on balance; it's practically all I talk about. But again, that isn't the point of this thread.

    Sigh - I must look like a fanboy right now, but nanolathe is almost always right when it comes to game design and balance, at least ever since I joined these forums.
