What can we do for the backers?

    might be better for modders thread but! as a backer and a future modder for PA. I guess I will post here.

    will it be possible to animate everything? some preferences would be the following

    aiming (in all directions): this would allow us to make none turret pivot based units. For example this might be needed for the unit cannon or other guns. It would be great to have a bot unit that has a hand like thing (square block lol) holding a two handed gun instead of having them integrated into their arms. I am not sure really but it would still be nice to have control over that fully via aniamtion if needed.

    reloading: perhaps big units and nukes it would be nice to be able to animate reloading. if that means showing nanolith building a missile and then it sort of crawls over into the launcher then so be it.

    Walking but with turning. It would be great to allow for turning animations. in supcom it sort of sucked to not have separate turning animations. for example i made this for a supcom unit once but because I never could figure out hot to script turning animations simply I just gave up on it. http://s427.photobucket.com/user/CBBP/m ... sort=3&o=9

    also perhaps idle animations and the other typical animatons one may want for something. different weapon states and such.

    There are threads for Modder requests in the Modding Subforum, but pretty much all you ask for was possible in SupCom, so I don't see why it wouldn't be for PA. Based on what we've seen for the Delta So far is already very promising.

    Wow. 15 pages! If it hasn't already been mentioned: something in a couple of livestreams about HOW t2 is gonna work, and be specialized, and even some info on how t1 is going to ultimately NOT be overshadowed. How you plan on layering on strategy/counters/rockpaperscissors, and even just how you work on balance as a whole.

    And if it's already been mentioned: I 2nd the suggestion! :mrgreen:

    The only thing that I would like is traditional 2d maps for certain conversion mods. Especially the one I have in mine.

    I think you assume too much about how detailed our plans are. Don't forget orbital and space stuff is going to effect the balance quite a bit and also has to be worked in.

    It would be nice to get a hint every so often of what will come from the next patch you guys are working on. Especially if it's particularly exciting.

    The crazy thing is that you guys have them in your hands almost when we are done with them. The lead time between a check-in of the code and you guys having it is as little as an hour in some extreme cases.

    Anyway, I didn't spend a lot of time in here over the weekend and I've been slammed today. Lots of good stuff in progress including work for multiple planets, AI stuff, UI improvements and more.

    I also just had a great meeting about the design and implementation of nukes and orbital units.

    I almost hope you find a crazy way to combine those. Every unit that survives a nuke .. is now in orbit :lol:
