Welcome to Planetary Annihilation!

I just found out about this project late last night.
Watched the trailer last night.
The original TA narrator returns! along with some of the staff from the past games.

I remember playing Total Annihilation over and over and over.
It is easily one of my all time favorite games. I still load it up every once in a while.
I also enjoyed playing The Supreme Commander series, but I defiantly preferred TA over it. Even though SC was a sequel it just did not have quite the same feel to it.
I have to say though I do remember the crushing requirements for running SC on my PC, and I will not go on about the horrible 360 port I had bought as well.
Still bought SC2 and it was pretty good.
Anyways hope to see PA turns out to be a sequel that is closer in feel to the original TA.
AGAIN awesome to hear John Patrick Lowrie doing the narration.

I donated $115 to Kickstarter last night, but being a full time student cannot donate more (Otherwise I would throw money at this project!).

Just wanted to chime in on this. Soooo AWESOME!!!!

Considering the $1000 tier seeing how I have been a huge fan of the TA and SupCom francises. These games are part of my gamer identity. Part of why I earn a living making games now. A Custom commander would be the most awesome thing to happen to me in video gaming since Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Might be just the $100 one though, economic considerations and the fact that both the $250 and $500 tiers suck balls.

Either way, best of luck to Uberent, and don't let the caustic SupCom community spoil your fun making this game. I'm already seeing some flamers and trolls and some old time party poopers from forums.gaspowered.com lurking in these forums... Behave, kids!

Great. Now, my girlfriend is gonna rip my head off... I blurted out too much about the Kickstarter project in a flash of enthusiasm and she went through the roof. "A THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A GAME!?!?"

It was epic, her face was downright priceless.

No ****, I've been getting thousands of hours of first class entertainment from TA and SupCom since the late 90's. Jon Mavor is pretty much a personal idol to me. Chris Taylor is, as well, even despite Weedoboth and Wilfindja.

HAHa that is awesome wish I had the funds to do that, otherwise I would have done the same.

You and me both, I can't even begin to count how many hours I've put into SupCom and FA, more so modding but same deal.

Frankly, for what we should be getting out of it, it's a steal!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I plotted the money Planetary Annihilation's Kickstarter accumulated since launch and then followed that curve out to 31 days. Based on that it looks like its gonna come just short of the second stretch goal.

If you assume it's a parabola, then yes. But Kickstarters tend to have a last minute effect, so I guess it'll go higher.

That is a linear projection, though.

Kickstarters are everything but linear.

However, they are usually better than linear, meaning it's a pretty decent lower bound.
