Zatchmo, I wouldn't post my guides if people wouldn't ask me to make them. More than one person has asked me to make a tank guide. I get asked all the time, "How do you deal with juicers?" "How do you stay alive versus a more skilled player?" "Can you give me an explanation and teach me how to....... (insert tactic here)?" More than one person has asked me to go into a private session with them to show them my tricks. These guides are only mere parcels of things I could post.

Again, one thing that makes my guides unique is that I talk about different play styles. I don't say, "YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS WAY OR YOU ARE STUPID!!!" Instead, I talk about different playstyles. For instance, Shammas has a rail gun playstyle. ImHudson had a more skill and jet gun based playstyle. DeadStretch was a mixture of the two, but more of Hudson than Shammas. By talking about different playstyles, people feel more comfortable in all situations. Shammas's playstyle is great for taking down fatties like gunners and tanks, but when you start fighting skinnies, Hudson's playstyle is much better IMO.

A lot of people tell me that my guides have helped them. MNC is getting a lot of newer players. Many things have changed in the Spunky DLC, and many people are revisiting MNC again. By directing them to my guides and the forum, the forum gets more members and newer players get better. Everyone wins in the end.

Some things that you take as common knowledge, others find to be new. Today, I was telling some newer players about the importance of endorsements and the role that they play in MNC. They had money for their custom classes, but didn't see the need to buy them. I told them the importance of custom classes, and I gave them some basic endorsement builds to try and they instantly did better. I write to newer players, not advanced people like you, Shammas, Chronicle, and whoever else is trolling my guides.

A lot of the more advanced players like Rev Rabies, FuttBuck, Korchanth, Sigmar, and Obsidianantye don't play much any more. None of these newer players have heard of these guys or their guides before. By listing some of the tricks they used in a simple, informative format, I am helping the noobs get better, and I think they like not getting steam rolled by the average pub assault.

Please, quit trolling my guides. I hope I have given you some perspective on why I am writing these. My "obvious" post wasn't phrased correctly. I am writing to a newer audience, not advanced guys like you. If my guides are making you mad, you don't have to click on the link in the forum. Nobody is forcing you to read them.

I am working on a gunner guide at the moment. I CAN guarantee you WITH GREAT CERTAINTY that there will be some new content in it.

Please don't. Let somebody who is good at Gunner write one.
All you need to do is
1. Claw and be good at it
2. Have a support heal you for most of the game

I'll be very surprised if there is any more new material than Futtbuck's Gunner guide.

EDIT - Korchanth still plays daily.

I have gotten to the point where I can compete with Nova Warlord 1v1. Wildman, you are just a beast gunner, period. Futtbuck is not the best gunner either. I have played against him, and Wildman, you kill me a LOT quicker than he did.

I really don't understand why people see me as a sucky player. I run over average pubs, and I do decently in competitive and private matches. If I am gonna meet this much crap on this forum, I'll just go to the CoR forums where a lot of my friends are.

I was not aware that Korchanth played so often. Somebody told me that he didn't play as often as he once did.

Wildman, I might not be the best gunner. I don't claim to be. I don't care to be. It isn't even achievable. There will always be somebody better than me, and there will always be somebody better than you. Why try to be the best gunner when some one will beat you at your own game eventually.

I am also writing my gunner guide to everyone. There will be things that you can use. But, then again, I am considering moving to the Cups of Rage forums, so it might not be posted here.

People view you the way they do because as far as we're all concerned, you're just another average player. You've never proven yourself against the best players or shown that you can work with a team. And you give poor advice, such as rail-gun grappling tanks. Yet you carry yourself like a top player. There's nothing wrong with trying to help people to get better, but at least give good advice or post something original.

Pretty much this. From what i've read from most of the guides, they're all pretty similair and the same thing is repeated in the all of e.g support guides. That's why i'm pretty sceptical reading most guides, because for me it looks like someone has read the first guide, changed the wording, added 1 or 2 things of their own and has just slapped their name on it.

I never called you a bad Gunner, I was just saying that if anyone should write a Gunner guide, then it should be the best Gunner. It would be like me writing an assassin guide. I'm average at it, people who are better than me have done one, but I write one anyway with nothing to add.

Wildman, it is impossible to be the best gunner. Someone will always be better than you, and someone will always beat the person who is better than you. I have never gotten the chance to prove myself against top-level players because I have never gotten the chance to play competitively against top players. I also play this game for fun. I don't care if I play competitively, that is cool with me. I play private matches every once in a while with Tom#'s and some of his friends. While I am not at the top of the leader boards, I have a K/D ratio of at least 1 and I do my job for the team.

How? How is it impossible to be the best Gunner? It's like saying it's impossible to be the fastest man in the world.

Think before you type.

Let's say that Tom#'s is the "best" gunner in the world. I know you have probably killed Tom#'s more than once. Tom#'s might be a solid gunner, but he died to a "lesser" player on the leaderboards. Does that mean that he is still the best gunner, or does that mean that you are the best gunner?

If the lesser person beat him in a competitive match, then the lesser person would be the best.

Think of it as the 100m sprint. Usain bolt was originally slower than his predecessor, but he became faster and he is now the fastest. Inevitably someone else will beat him and they will become the fastest.

If you beat me in a competitive match (e.g I go 0-20 and you go 20-0) then yes, you're the better gunner. If I go 10 - 15 and you go 15 - 10 then you're the better gunner.

How does this not make sense?

Wildman, I am sure you have had your bad games like everyone else here. Even Jeff went 0-20 something with the assassin once, and I am sure he has had games like 40-0 with the assassin. The deal is every single game you play is different. The "best" gunner is constantly changing. One day it is you, one day it is Miracle, one day it is Tom#'s, one day it is a guy named POO....... If the best gunner is supposed to write guides, well.... we need about forty then.

The last set of private matches I played (or maybe it was the round before that, not sure), I was playing assassin one one team, and Manouso was playing assassin on the other team. 2 out of the four games, he won. 2 out of the four games, I won. The BEST is determined by who CONSISTENTLY does better than others in privates. Everybody does bad sometimes, but just because Shammas plays poorly one game doens't mean the other team's tank is better than him; it means either Shammas had a bad game, the other tank had a good game, Shammas' team sucked, or the other tank's team was pro. Or, it could just mean that the other tank is better than Shammas. There are 100000000 variables to it.

What we look for in the best is a general consistency in doing your job. You aren't the best gunner in MNC because you do well in a game against a better gunner. You are the best gunner in MNC when you repeatedly do well in a game against a supposed better gunner.


As for the guide, you're arguing in circles. Your intentions are noble, but you wasted your time, especially since a lot of the advice you give only works against bad people (ie: IM HUDSONS tak style...nothing against IM HUDSON. He's one of the best guys on this forum, but good people do not let the tank get close enough to charge+death blossom/jet gun people unless they've made a mistake or get assault bombed right in front of you).

Your guide is a pub guide. We don't need any more pub guides. The only guides that should be coming out now are in depth competitive guides for the assassin and support, and only because people still play them wrong in privates.
