    No, that was absolutely correct.

    A black hole is not necessarily very massive. He meant a black hole with the mass of earth (basically what that superweapon in the novel did).

    Light wouldn't get out of it, but its gravity would be EXACTLY the same. (not the surface gravity, but the gravity at the former Earth's radius, or the gravitational pull on the moon.
