Is it possible to have Water planets up and running like a reversed Terra planet or something? Naval Warfare atm is just a quick skirmish in small to medium lakes with nothing spectacular enough for a proper naval battle... If we could have water planet as part of the random rotation that would be awesome as there enough naval tech to support it Zenotheory
I know this but would like to see it come out very soon to have a more improved naval battle as the lakes are too small and can't get a proper naval base going for battles...
They need to fix navy first before making water planets. Subs are still feature incomplete and navy overall is... funny. It won't be that far out.
And you can get planets that are pretty good for naval as is. I had one generated that had a massive water belt around it. It all depends on how the planet is generated.
Naval units need MAJOR retooling. They cost about as much as land units and have just about as much health. The only thing "naval" about them is their range and damage.
I don't think so. I think that subs have sonar so they can see other subs, and you can build sonar stations, much like the radar towers. And what I was talking about earlier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msiTaRZSsZU&feature=youtu.be
I could have sworn I saw radar blips just outside my Narwhal's vission range when I didn't have any radar towers nearby. It would be cool if the Narwhal had radar to go with it's anti-air missiles, and the Bottleblue had sonar and torpedoes. Just like real life, You would need both of them to protect the bigger more vulnerable T2 battleships. In both cases the radar and sonar would be shorter ranged than the radar or sonar structures.
Yeah, but at the same time, the t2 radar and sonar ranges are so massive, you plop down a couple and you've got most of the planet covered.
Currently, no ships have radar/sonar, and only some can see underwater. Also see http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/inde ... ask_id=421.
Oh lame. Still like the idea of giving the bottleblue anti-submarine capabilities so it can be a real destroyer instead of a smaller version of the Leviathan.
Depth Charges are cool and all, but in terms of practicality(and Style) I'd say that Hedgehogs out-do them! Mike
