    That wasn't an exact off-topic, cause it was protection of the unit's internal logic, which is backbone for any further abilities and possibilities. But yes, it got sidetracked, I'm sorry for this. I made a separate thread to discuss that interesting topic without polluting this interesting topic anymore.

    Thanks. But that's what I like most - to create complex interlinked systems with proper internal logic. I'm a programmer. So, for me it's just no fun in simple modeling unless you really know what you are doing.

    Yes, it should be automatic in most cases, unless you force it for some reason. I'm not big supporter of this "special ability" things as they are just weird for PA scale. So, automation in most cases and manual override for little tactical advantage.

    Taking it's sports-car appearance and proposed light armor it's just looks like kamikadze leap ability (close range flamethrower). Get near, make couple of shots, die. Rinse and repeat =). I feel it would be better to have separate using for this (more armored) and switching modes this is actually just don't work in PA scale (it wasn't working in SupCom in big battles).

    Well, that's an original idea for unit - ambush or/and rapid response. Hit&run tactics or leaping though enemy lines for engineer or mex hunt (or to take shields/artillery down).

    Can't say I have ever been a fan of auto use ability's like that, but each to their own I suppose. :)

    Since this topic was very quite last few days, I´ll show you some units I created.

    T1 MAAC Mobile Anti-Air Cannon


    This mobile AA weapon is designed to protect your troops from enemy aircrafts. It´s somehow a mix between SupCom UEF T1 and T2 AA Gun, which means it has average damage with little AoE (Area of Effect). It would be able to move and shoot simultaneously, allowing it to support patrolling or moving forces.
    In single usage they will be good at fighting slow/low end air units (Troop transporters, etc.) , in groups they would (due to AoE) work good versus smaller air squads.
    Since they have no ground armament they can easily be countered by tanks or bots.

    T2 MAAML Mobile Anti-Air Missile Launcher

    This unit is designed to destroy high-priority air targets from long distance. It has long range, high damage AA missiles, however its long reloading time gives it a DPS equivalent to the T1 MAAC. Since the unit needs to unpack before firing, it´s not the best solution to protect moving forces.
    Due to it´s semi-stationary usage it´s vulnerable against artillery, tactical missiles or even against larger groups of anti-ground aircrafts. Due to it´s low speed it would also be vulnerable against tanks and bots.

    attachments are pics of the models, download them to see if they dont already show. I reckon he is doing a fairly good job keeping to the design style of the trailer. Possible could use more colour and less of the greyscale but that's just me.

    I have to admit, that I didn´t understood the attachment system. I added one picture and it showed up as a download attachment, while the other picture was added as an picture attachment. However if you see two pictures you see what you´re supposed to see.

    I tried making some kind of chemical/acid bot, first try at something like this:

    Tank with chemicals on the back

    Basically an assault bot with chemical/acidic AoE weaponry that does damage over time

    Not as nice as most of the models you see but I think it illustrates the concept

    Legs looks a little thin, but otherwise it looks good.

    reminds me of how the robots from TA looked.

    Ooor you can get the Student Version of 3DS Max. Its what I use for all my models. Its an awesome program.

    yes, somehow. To be honest, the reason I used 4 instead of the usual 3 cannons was, that I never before used 3dsMax had some problems with 3 cannons because of symmetry reasons. So I decided to use 4. But I think it's okay, with a long reload time even 4 may be to less.

    Edit: I'd like to clearify that I don't plan to make any mod for PA, so these pictures are more or less purely for aesthetic purpose. However I try to keep "balance" in mind.

    So I did some more time on creating a unit. Didn't finish the battleship, but created a new ship: a Missile Cruiser.
    I was not so sure what kind of weapons this ship should carry beside it's tactical missiles. Finally used the SupCom UEF T2 armament, so a small cannon, some SAM-Launcher and the TM-Launchers. What do you think of this weapon setup? I had the idea to equip it with TM-Defense instead of SAMs, but don't know if this a good idea. Both seems a little OP.
