@bgolus: So, is being able to jump into a replay at a certain point and actually begin playing it from there, as the player of your choice, one of the goals of the replay option as well (like Starcraft 2 replays let you do)? Or is it intended to have DVR type viewing only functionality? I would love to be able to play out an epic tourney game from the perspective of any player, to see how I would fair in the same situation. Or just replay one of my own to see how I could have done things differently (without having to try to reproduce the same situation in another new game). That would truly make it an AWESOME learning tool!
Yes, the plan is for replays to be the equivalents to save games. For the moment they're just for game playback (once they work at all for you guys), and generally they'll just be stored on our servers. Once players have access to the game server themselves for things like hosting their own games or playing local skirmish matches replays will be saved locally for those cases.
VERY COOL!!! I would say that is a HUGE upgrade over typical save game functionality! Very much looking forward to that feature! Thank you for the info! Will there be an option on the Uber servers for community uploaded replays as well?
