I was joking of course. But a level 3 rocket turret is actually hard to kill when a support sits there to guard it.

But yeah. If this were implemented, there would need to be a power cap or something, so stuff doesn't end up broken.

No it isn't and that's the sad part. Without a hack that turret is worthless and it is still way too easy to take out by buying juice at 1/3 the total cost of the turret.

Well, without someone constantly defending and rehealing it, a rocket turret is pretty useless. And that forces the support to stay in his base.

Problems I see with turrets are:
    a) They die way too easy unless they are level 3 and/or hacked
    b) They STILL die way too easy against anyone juiced
    c) Unless hacked, all the turrets except the long shot suck. Even then, the long shot isn't great, just not terrible.
    d) except for the lazerblazer, they cost too much, especially the rocket turret. Not the laser blazer though.

How would I fix this? Well this is my opinion, and as is the way of internet forums, you'll all tear this apart, but anyway...

    a) Increase the durability of turrets levels 1 and 2. A level 1 turret can be killed by most classes in less than 5 seconds. yikes.
b)This one I don't know. Assassins though, need a juiced vs. turret nerf BAD. 1 juiced assassin can take down 5-6 turrets if nothing gets in her way.
    c) Give the turrets better stats from the get go. The equivalent of a level 1 hack buff would probably make turrets useful enough that people would use them.
d)Laser cost is fine, leave it.
Make the ice one same cost as laser and people might actually care about it.
The long shot is decent too I guess, maybe knock the level 3 upgrade down to 250. Rocket turrets though, instead of 200,400,800 I would do 150,300,600 at most. 100,200,400 seems more reasonable. Its really just the level 3 upgrade that kills me. 800 is enough to use the annihilator 3 times, and I'd rather do that. The total cost, 1600, is enough to buy juice 3 times! Especially since, as previously stated in this thread, even at level 3 if a rocket turret isn't hacked, its a $1600 piece of crap.

I understand also that some of the decisions about turrets is based on Blitz mode rather than Crossfire. That's fine, and makes complete sense, but in Crossfire it seems like turrets are almost useless. Maybe make separate stats and costs for each mode. Yes a level 1 laser blazer is actually useful against some bots, so in Blitz it's actually a decent investment. Against rival pros however, anything less than a level 3.3 turret feels like a waste of money waiting to explode.

    enjoy

I don't mind base defense. I only have two real problems with it:

I don't have the money and people usually don't upgrade turrets significantly.

People upgrade the turrets furthest away, so I have to cover all sides pretty much by myself. This is worse on Ammo Mule and GrenADE III than Steel Peel or LR. Though those maps carry their own issues.

Honestly, I don't mind playing base healer, but without the cash from more agressive acts, I'm more dependent on my team than normal.

I don't mind it, either. You're right about all those problems though. I used to end up spending all my money on turrets after the team destroyed them instead of upgrading skills or bots or something. It would get very tedious when my team refused to come back and make or upgrade turrets and instead continue to raid the opposing base.

Now what I'm experimenting with is to only upgrade the initial rocket turrets there are. I'm still working with it, but at least the gameplay is more enjoyable to me. If I stay defending, hacking, and healing them, they last a long time and can almost singlehandedly defend the base. Plus, inbetween raids I can help my team push a lane. It's still in the experimental stage, though.
