    As I've mentioned. Kalherine wants PA to be exactly like SupCom. She/he even liked my post when I said that.

    Apparently, RTS games that aren't exactly like FAF will fail.

    It's... well.
    I think gunshin's point is, if kalherine was a very skilled player, active in tournaments and the ladder and such, they would have played before.

    But since gunshin hasn't encountered kalherine before, he's concluding that kalherine can't be that skilled.

    It's a fairly big leap, but has some reason to it – albeit thin.

    so now we need a new thread for every unit that we don´t like how it looks? ... maybe wanna make a poll next time?
    ... seriously WHO (else) realy cares about that? if it would be some functional design (like say unitcannon .. hint .. hint .. ähem .. (if it´s out i didn´t play the newest patch yet)) or some signifacant identification issue (were one unittype may look to similar to another one) i would understand it but this is soo insignificant it doesn´t matter at all it´s just mere personal preference of looks...

    not only that but I wouldn't be surprised if katherine beat gunshin. the same vice versa but gunshin is assuming he's hiiigh above

    @gunshin don't sell the bear's hide untill you've slain it, basically none of the pro players from FA / faf have stepped in yet.

    Of late I've been seeing Bhaal and Lu_Xun on the forum, not to mention
    Zock was the first to post on my megathread.

    Including those 3, we have also had Scruffy (known on FAF as voodoo) too. thats 4 of them, but you also have to realise that if those top players still enjoy playing FAF, they are unlikely to switch.

    If you or katherine want an attempt at beating me, thats fine, just make sure you are fine with me putting the game on youtube and then spreading it across here as proof as to how bad you are.

    This is fairly close, but the main reason i say this is because if Kalherine thinks that the power generators are the things that are going to make this game fail, they fail to see the genuine problems with the game (which are slowly being ironed out), therefor, has little understanding of the game. Uber is getting there, it just seems slow.

    EDITED : ((I think you mean sup com two)) can I spoil all the suspence for you? TA's makers whent on to make sup com then sup com FA and are now making this game.
    the three franchises form a trilogy, a familly of games if you will that very much share the same smell, if you will.

    but technically untrue, Mike Robinson was still on for SupCom 2, he did it's AI

    False, the AI was already in place(at least partially) and he worked on many other aspects of the engine before he got to tweak the AI, not that dissimilar to what he did in his SupCom1/FA AI Mod but with more power. I also doubt he had nearly as much involvement in SupCom2 in terms of decision making as he's had in PA. PA is the first time he's had the chance to work on an AI from scratch like this.

    SupCom and FA was literally the next evolution of RTS games.

    - Larger armies.
    - Smarter units.
    - Unit formations.
    - Strategic-freaking-zoom.
    - Ferry command
    - Probably the cleanest best looking GUI of any RTS in history.
    - The most powerful UI (not counting Zero-K?)



    Unless you're talking about balance.
    In which case, that's just a personal preference. And you are welcome to your opinion.

    Saying supcom was revolutionary, is very heavy handed.

    TA was way better imo

    I can point out the bland lack luster units

    The need for game enders to end the game because of turtle shields

    T1, t2 units where worthless once t3 was. Reached

    Visuals for weapons where nice

    The ui was good but not revolutionary

    Late game even with a strong machine was a lag fest

    If you want to put supcom on ur list of greatest game every, fine. But dont jump on me for not agreeing with you.

    Thats the only reason i backed pa, because they where going in a much different direction.

    Apologies, I don't mean to be aggressive.

    Late game was slow, yes.
    It suffered from the p2p network connect model.
    PA will be the seems to be taking that part of the "lessons learned".


    No, I don't think the UI was revolutionary except for Strat Zoom, but an evolution on multiple fronts.
    Is there a game you feel has a more powerful UI?
