"If you have a job, just go buy good whiskey you ***" - Most "good" whiskeys are less than 50% aged spirits, with newer spirits often making up the bulk of the blend, single cask bottlings and single malts are a much smaller portion of the market, and are often too difficult to acquire to be worth seeking.

So, as with many things, it's best to do it yourself if you have any intention of seeking quality.
