    Derp. What's yours?

Tai chi is the most commonly used and westernized of the three internals. A lot of the eastern principles really just don't come through in a lot of the tai chi practices over here. FURTHERMORE, tai chi is a lifetime art, and primarily focuses on using your own opponent's momentum against them. That is difficult as hell to do. You can practice forms for literally 10+ years before you begin applications. The learning curve between internal and external martial arts isn't comparable.. But there's absolutely NO doubt that someone at their peak in bagua/shing-i/tai chi will floor anyone in their peak in tae kwon do or something comparable.

Also, a lot of the time it will just come down to the athleticism of the fighter. Then again, it also depends on the terms of the competition. A good chunk of the strikes and whatnot in internals aren't allowed in MMA leagues such as the infamous UFC. So in an octagon, someone trained in an external may have the advantage. Who knows. Infinite variables.

    /knowledge gap.

    ^this

    as well as...

again, either one is useful, improves onto the self, and can be conpared and contrasted. HOWEVER, many of the best systems teaches both. ninjitsu (the whole system, not just budo-taijuitsu, which is just the hand-to-hand part of ninjitsu) teaches many skills and incorporates a physical and spiritual martial art. it has a lot to do with taoism and budhism, mental conditioning, body control. it also has a lot to do about combat and weapons and survival skills.

it teaches you to live and survive. other systems teach kung-fu and tai-chi, and i believe takewando has a related system. best to learn a complete interlocking system than just strongly study one aspect of self-improveent. unless fighting is just a hobby or sport to you, of course. there is nothing wrong with that.

fact: marine basic training and ninjitsu both teach you sewing skills.

I'm very confused as to what that video was. Apparently an old man beat up a bunch of children with Harry Potter-esque abilities and then got his *** whooped?

Well, I'm a 16-year-old from Long Island, New York. Been a huge gamer since I was 5, first game being Crash Bandicoot on the PS1. Still have great memories of all those demo discs. :D

I'm a very musical person, listening to everything from the metal to the electronic. My favorite current artist being Color Theory, an indie piano pop artist from California.

On the performing side of music, I drum, play bass (badly), but mostly, I sing. (That being an actual, recent performance w/ a friend of mine.) Been singing with my school's choir since 4th grade and just recently came out of my shell vocally. (That performance being my first solo one... ever).

I'm a member of one of the bigger Bad Company 2 clans out there, the BFC, which makes every game of BC2 fun. :D

Anyway, that's about all I can say.

Oh, and I have 2 gallons of Mountain Dew Baja Blast in my fridge. B)

I don't even like Emmure all that much. They were suggested to me by some friends and I got the discography. I just put 'Metal' in my iTunes and grabbed a video of the first song that popped up. :p

No, I know that. That's just how they are in my iTunes and I really can't be assed to change it. Didn't think anyone would be picky enough to make a comment. :p

    (Shrunken to prevent paaage stretch)

Before I bother reading about anyone else--since I'm obviously the most interesting person here--I'll go ahead and talk about myself and all of my celebrity.

I'm sure many are wondering but find it rude to ask, so I'll start with my age. I'm 20, though most would guess I'm 16 (and if you check the picture in the camwhore thread you'll see why, haha).

As far as standard bio things go, I'm African-American/Creole/Cherokee Indian, 5'9", and 110 pounds (50kgs for the overseas people that use different measurements or whatever), Blood Type O-, born 7/11 (yes, like the convenience store).

I live in Kansas--quite close to Grec and DP, actually--since I frequent both Oak Park Mall and Great Mall (for the luls), not to mention Zona Rosa commonly. I find it weird how small the world is. I wonder if we've seen each other and didn't realize it.

Currently, I'm a community college student getting General Education out of the way before I transfer to a university. My ultimate goal is to become a game designer. I've been playing games since I was one year old (or unless you count my mom gaming while pregnant, from the womb), so I figure I'd go into the business doing what I love.

I'm a single only child with no pets and a single parent--so I'm livin' the lonely life, and as such, have become a tech junkie (or maybe it's the fact that my mom is a computer technologist--I'll just blame everything on my mother, haha). As such, my hobbies central around technology. Drawing (on a tablet), blogging, haunting social networks and photoshopping are what I tend to do if I'm not gaming or eating.

And as Jen will tell you (since she seems to catch me eating a lot) I eat constantly. It's a wonder I'm as thin as I am. Hahaha~
Speaking of, I will rarely dabble in modeling (for art purposes, such as my college's Drawing class). I've been offered opportunities but since I don't want to be distracted from my curriculum, I turn them down.

Maybe I should take one. I could use the money. Haha.
And that's me in a nutshell. :3 Now, on to read about others~

Oh, and I work at Gamestop. No, we don't have Battletoads.
Also, you will never know my name because I don't give it out over the internet. You stalkers. ;P

There's a reason for the saying "older and wiser."

Im expected to be wise? *ahem* I belive another saying goes: Growing old is mandatory. Growing mature is optional. I'm not exactly sure wise and mature are interchangable, but you get the point.

20 and afraid of stalkers? im not saying anything about your ego being inflated if you get the idea, but your not that important

dont hate me for saying that.

moving on obsidianyte... please dont get seriously injured. type o- blood is a bitch to get a hold of. your mother might be the only one who can donate that kind of blood to you in some cases, and even that isnt a sure shot.

but you should donate as much blood as you possibly can. others could use a blood that some people NEED and almost any other blood type can USE

    ...
telling you not to be afraid of stalkers and then talking in detail about your blood type in the same sentence.

I'm not AFRAID of stalkers, I'd just rather not have any. I don't think I'm important--shoot, stalkers will stalk anything they can stalk.

I'm pretty sure if shrubbery could move, people would stalk them, too, haha.

As far as my blood type goes, I KNOOOOOW. I'm extra super careful. I've not even so much as broken a bone in my body. Hahaha. I've never even gotten so much as a cavity before, and that doesn't even involve blood. xD ...Does it?

I'd give blood if I could, but I'm too tiny. They won't let me do it.

I don't know about the Great Mall, though. Never been to it, but I have heard of it. Is it better or worse than Oak Park?
