You're only exposed for a very small period if you go through the opening right off your moneyball and left of their ejector.

Alternatively you can use the entry right off their moneyball if you knocked the sentry down.

Additionally, if you go to the area near your own ejector, then up the jump pad then follow through the top area, you're also only exposed for a brief window.

This is saying nothing of how you can use several of those exits to get the jump on the sniper to begin with. How depends on the class.

When people say "stay out of his sight", we're talking about playing it smart, and not just running like an headless chicken in front of the place you know he's scouting.

Tanks are the worst class against snipers, you are pretty much screwed.

I actually recommend Gold Regen and silver health, which will still make you able to suck the first headshot with Lvl 3 Tank. That said, it is still horrible. They can clear botwaves faster than you from cover, you really just have to hope that your Assassins deal with them, because you cannot.

A skilled sniper will just casually kill you over and over. There is nothing you can do about it except cower.

I'll have to experiment with these, but I know i can just float over them without setting them off. However, how do you set them off without getting snared?

I understand that the benefit of being sniper (i.e. k/d ratio > 30) makes the e-peen of most people grow and makes them feel like they'd be awesome, but some people are just fed up by constantly being ganked by snipers shooting from total safety of the home base or being quickscoped randomly.

You might say I just suck, which might be true, but k/d ratios of most snipers tell a different story.

Why do you have to engage the Sniper up front if you can push the lane with your long range rail gun? If the Sniper is looking at you, straddle out into the lane. If the Sniper is still poised in his perch, then don't push into the lane. Ask a more mobile class (Assault, Assassin) to attack the Sniper so you can attempt to flank him yourself once distracted, or try to abandon the lane momentarily and apply pressure to different locations on the map (such as the middle dome in Ammo Mule, or seizing control of the enemy's small flank tunnel on Spunky) which may force the Sniper to move out of a trap entrenched safer position whereas you can intercept him in transit, when he is at his weakest.

These are only the methods I apply myself as an Assault player, I'm not trying to start a flame war here. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the bot lanes control everything. You can be under a tremendous amount of pressure, but as long as you continue to press against their bots and come through in Overtime with some solid offense, you can still win. The same is true when a Sniper is baring down upon your base from a good position. You can ignore the Sniper completely and still push the lane in some fashion on any map. As long as you kill the bots, you're still making progress; the players' positions are irrelevant unless they pose an immediate threat.

The best thing you can do against that sniper is to either avoid the lane he is holding and try to tell you faster classes or counter classes to take that lane or to go to a rof build and rail him 1-2 times and then spike him with a rail/billy mays combo. This works wonders as the sniper will take the first shot thinking he is fine but when the second one hits witha billy mays he will die or be forces to take cover or leave the position, after that you just need to move as fast as you can to overtake his position and make sure he has a hard time of getting back to it.
Snipers are good at holding positions but after you dislodge them they have a hard time of getting back to it if you use their position against his team.

    Ok

    Now

    What?

(Note: Screenshots taken at the end of the rounds, so some people left at the end. All games were 6vs.6 during the game)

Last I knew the top player was an assault, also playing assassin now. I see a flaw in your logic.

I just recently posted this as a response to a more than lackluster attempt on a "dealing with snipers" guide. I belive it to be rather accurate :I

I often Tank jump (Unless they are oriented on a corridor) to get right next to them and burn them out with my Jet Gun. Works very well on Spunky against Ejector campers, since you have access to a jump area right outside of your base.
