Because it's on the front line and not back in a safe base.

Why do you have to derail?

A mobile factory is even worse when it is being built too.

That's why it's mobile, you build it in a safe spot then move it up. That's why any unit is mobile.

Why do you have to derail?

Then stop placing vulnerable assets on the front line. A "master of none" can only deal less damage while taking more, and it risks the entire attack.

I don't think you understand the value of a short reinforcement time.

Why do you have to derail?

For some reason you can't accept that I have an opinion and have to attack it.

Can you stop please? No1 is derailing! this is all on topic. You are just typing words now and making yourself look stupid and immature.

When I start talking about Jetpack Dinosaur Ninjas you can start talking about derailing...

Oh. So I guess talking about the unit in question is derailing. When you put it that way, I guess any discussion with bmb is derailing.

You mean like a army of tanks to go with the engineers?

Yeah that's the end of your entire argument, if they can't expand with a new base because engineers are exposed, build them an escort, or have the engineers set up defences first.

Those three bullet points should be at the top of every megabot thread. I don't agree with them entirely, but I do agree that you just summed up the whole case for adding them to the game.

Intimidation factor is certainly true. It also adds to the fun of the game.

Less units to command is one I hope won't be an issue with a good ui. It definitely is a good point though.

Degradation of force is the big one. Done well, a balanced megabot could really add a great dynamic between small units and large ones. I just don't know that it ever really can be balanced properly. The megabot debate should center around this one issue.

I had an opinion that I'd like to see unit X. Apparantly this opinion must be suppressed. That is derailing.

I find this works against me, as players see my scary unit and start to play better :(

We disagree with you, and discussed the points, that IS on topic.

When your posts start getting deleted, then and only then are you being supressed. Thats not the case though, people can see your posts and your opinion, and they are also expressing theirs. YOU are the 1 trying to suppress by claiming their opinions are invalid and therefore should not be considered.

No you didn't disagree with me. Disagreeing would have looked like this:

"I don't think mobile factories fit in the game"

    What you did was this:

"MOBILE FACOTIRES DONT EXIST HURR DURR UR SOP STUPID"

Mobile factories aren't required. There are already lots of ways and impending ways to bring your army to the front line.

And it's false. Building static structures is not comparable to building units on the go.

What does a mobile base change? Rally times. What does a unit cannon change? Rally times. What does a forward base change? Rally times.

They're all the same damn thing.

A unit can get a lot closer than a forward base, and support the action much more directly. They do have a similar role in the grand scheme of things but similar does not mean the same.

And as I said such a unit can facilitate the creation of a bigger forward base much closer than you otherwise could have. It creates a beachhead of build power that would be impractical otherwise.
