[suggestion]weapon shot color change with secondary army color

    I see nothing wrong with it if it is a client side choice instead of server side for everyone. If a player wants an extra intel layer option like team colored beams and explosions that sounds pretty good.

    Bumping this thread after seeing the uber cannon become a little more of a highlight.

    I think it would be pretty sweet if the uber cannon at least took on the color of your fraction.

    Coloring weapon effects based on team color isn't something we'll be doing ourselves, though I know many people have requested the feature or similar. "Physical" projectile themselves are team colored, though in the past there was a bug that caused them to always render essentially unlit so you couldn't see the color, and there's still some issues that cause them to be darker than they should.

    I have mentioned before that I hope to add the feature option to color particle systems based on the owning team for other effects, but that's not in yet and I don't have an ETA on when it will be. Lots of more important work to be done first.

    I like it. It would go a long ways in unit identification if instead of a white overlay on unit icons it was the secondary color as well. Currently if you pick a lighter color like, grey/ white, or yellow it's pretty difficult differentiating unit types

    Storming kiwi saw some of the physical projectiles and that was pretty nifty addition.

    Hope to see the particle systems later down the road.

    Aww come on just picture it, on the dark side of the moon your lines are being charged by a horde of angry bots. Flashing as the raycast lights up the wall that your trying to desperately hold. You fight like dogs and hold the line but they will be back, in time. And with the new particle effect system coming we should have many new exciting explosions on the way. I have high hopes that some intrepid modder will take the time to do this so it can be in any color you like. Seeing as Uber has so many other things to work on but hey, welcome to the machine, its just the way the industry works. That is one good thing about building a game with the community in mind is that we can see to this ourselves. One of these days, no matter what gets into the final cut, our game experience will be seasoned to taste.

    just thought of this but why not apply the colour effects to the nano-lathe as well

    Just adding my support to this. I don't see the point in taking secondary colour selection out of the player's hands. Seeing as secondary colours are still there we should be able to customise our army to some degree.

    Yes, it is a vanity thing, but I don't see any reason why the option should be taken away, especially if it's so inconsequential.

    I thought that was just for defenses. Most units (excluding the commander, except with his d-gun) shot yellow.

    I think this would be awesome. Quite frankly, i'd rather have it as a feature than a mod, but rather have it than not :p
