It's simply my personal opinion. I'm not dictating their time, I'm simply sharing my personal opinion. There's nothing wrong with sharing my opinion on this.

I don't think that making these decorative visual assets is worth Uber's time right now.

I also don't think there's a single person on the forums that would rather have these visual changes than say... the Unit Cannon.

I'll put my hands up and say, that if they full ham with this, id rather have it then a single unit that I don't even think will do anything useful, when most people still don't spam the transports we already have...

And there is nothing wrong with your opinion, however, you face the problem with being rather well known throughout the community, so other members listen (Well read) your statements with a certain amount of reputation behind it, to back them up.

So I feel like you saying it's not worth ubers time is like saying you took it as a direct quote from a actual developer.

You stand as a person of great respect, but when you just voiced your opinion, it didn't look like it was yours, but rather you parroting the voice of another.

That is something that could be misconstrued as a dev fact, rather their your own humble opinion.

I mean no offence in this, as it's more your reputation that I say it. People trust your word, so please try to be a little clearer about the difference between a dev's opinion/comment and your own.

There's a guy whose job it is seems to be to make things look pretty though - the scars on the environment look amazing.

This would fall under his umbrella. IT could be done in parallel. Uber is a small team, but they don't solely consist of one or two people.

    Bridges.

The ability to create structures that alter pathing could make for some things not seen as possible in other games. Their decorative role would be a side benefit.

Having pre-generated structures on planets would be neat.
Abandoned cities, old bases, animals that scatter like roaches as you trample through a forest, entire civilizations that worship a single dox, left over units squatting on a planet and driven mad after the loss of their commander, natural disasters, or in general flavor to living worlds.
I don't think we need to build any of this stuff, you are a war machine after all. But it would be cool if there was natives on living worlds that would be a hindrance to you. Even if they were just ants to be crushed under your giant treads.

I'd say you're extrapolating. There's no reason for you or anyone to automatically assume that I'm quoting a developer – unless I say I'm quoting a developer.

Whenever I say something that a dev said, I say that a dev said it.

You, and everyone else, should never assume that I'm quoting developers unless I say I'm quoting a dev. I'm just a normal forum member, I'm not even a Vanguard.

I dunno about purely aesthetic buildings, but I think it would be rad to have paved roads for land units to move a bit faster on. Especially if they could get wrecked by explosion decals (maybe explosion decals would slow units to a little bit UNDER their base movement speed?)

I am ABSOLUTELY in favor of pre-existing structures and ruins of civilizations. Now that trees are destructible and actually block movement I feel like little towns/cities/temple complexes would be a cool natural extension of that.

I'm a fan of this idea aesthetically. I don't like the idea of it giving the base small bonuses. Don't want to go into the pitfalls of Supreme commander with it's adjacency bonuses.

The lynchers have been doing their lynching. However, if these things gave actual benefits like bonus movement speed to vehicles and faster resource gathering etc. then why wouldn't it be a good idea? It just gives another path of tactical freedom. And, if Alliances Mode ever comes it would be really interesting to see roads and power cables being built to share resources and then seeing the power cables torn down and armies driving along the roads towards eachother.

good ideas in this thread. And that the idea of bridges should surface again makes me happy. I really like @emraldis 's idea. If uber can find the time for it and perhaps even bridges that would make me extremely happy.

Quite honestly I like the clean look PA has, in my opinion there's no need to fill the world with too many aesthethic things. I like the idea of everything in the world serving it's purpose. That's why I would want to see some more vertical land formations, so we can have obstacles and platforms that may introduce a range bonus if stood upon.

Bridges are an excellent example of the things I would like to see.
