I have water polo tomorrow evening, work throughout the day(s) obviously, and the Civ: BE expansion releases on Friday. Partner's parents are over on Sunday.

. . . I'm going to have a busy 36 hours or so.

(also, downloaded hours ago. 80mbit down, and my PC scrapes by minimum specs. Should be fine)

So I did some research and it looks like Origin doesn't use "clocks" per-se to unlock their time, it's more like a time zone thing embedded within the download somewhere. The "timer" is set when the game is downloaded, so in theory you could use a VPN connection to bypass your time zone and download the game in someone's else time zone. This tricks the timer into thinking it's set for a different time zone.

Obviously this is all superfluous now since the game comes out tomorrow for me. Don't really want to re-download it just to play it a few hours early haha.

Yeah, I don't expect it to work, but it would just be really funny if it did.

I really enjoyed myself. It's got the John Williams, it's got the Star Wars visuals, it's got the Star Wars effects, things go pew pew. FantasticohmygodYEAH!

Once I set it to low on my 560ti it ran at ~60fps. That blaster pistol may be overpowered. Or maybe I'm just that good. I'm going to go with the latter.

I think this might be my favourite skybox ever. Probably because it has a bunch of Star Destroyers in it. There's a battle going on overhead and it all looks really cool. I died a few times because I was staring at the sky.

What settings are you running for your screenshots?

I get access at 14.40. Hey, neat, yesterday it was 15.00!

I set it on low to get 60 fps. Autodetect settings ran at about 47 fps. Maybe it was suggest practice but as soon as I got the framerate to 60 I start playing much better...

The game just black screens on me and a lot of other people for no apparent reason. Oh well.

The Realm Teamspeak will have some form of Dedicated Channel for SWB during this time if someone is playing it. Look for it or ask Requiem where it is

Obviously I did. A lot of other people with a variety of different systems are having the same issue and it's not about meeting the system reqs.

But have you tried turning it off and on again?

Does anybody have screenshots of max graphics? I saw a video of Hoth and while the effects are great, the snow texture really sucks.

Edit: I bet people end up refering to it as Star Wars Battlefield.

My game autodetects to High. The gameplay is definitely more Battlefront (of old) than Battlefield.
