So, why does fire kill?

    I'm actually inclined to agree that fire shouldn't kill just because there aren't any tags for fire kills. Those kills just go into limbo, unless they actually do count for the weapon that ignited them and I just don't pay enough attention to the kill counter.

    Fire burns. Severely burnt things die. Therefore, fire kills stuff.

    This makes me wonder about another thing. If a Tank or Gunner kills someone with their jumpjets, it shows the Jet Engine gun icon. If a Gunner kills someone in this manner, does it count towards the Tank's Jet Engine gun kills for that player's career?

    Player fire gives the kill, map fire does not.

    its a balance issue. and its not too big of one, but its breaking for the tank and assault. all weapons are balanced around fire damage.

    take away fire damage and expect buffed bombs and jetgun.

    The real question is why the gunner doesn't have a fire killing weapon(not jetpack)

    You mean there's actually a way to make the bomb even more overpowered than it already is?

    Mmm..... double the radius, increase the force of the explosion, and make it an instakill. Also, give an option for automatic headcrabs.

    The thing with fire is its damage timer starts when the first fire inducing effect happens.

    So say I hit someone with the jetgun and do enough damage to kill them after when I feel the burn effect will complete.
    Then they run away burning and they don't die.
    It's because the damage I did was in conjunction with them burning from my initial jetgun hit, not my last.

    Also, different pros have different health, so if you burn a tank and an assassin the damage rate of the burn won't be a huge deal to the tank, but the assassin will see a fair drop in health.

    It might seem inconsistent, but knowing when you/they got burnt is really all you need to gauge if you/they will live or die.

    Also, I don't think the burn damage needs a buff, I think it's fine as is.
    I think the best fix to your problem would be whatever the burn damage is, make that part of the health bar red. I don't know if that would be something that would be easy to implement, but I've never needed it so it's not really big on my list.

    That.... would be amazing. The main thing is it's just so tiring. I'm just venting. So, I doubt anything here will be taken seriously. But, no likey.
