They run the same servers as Uber does. They both use Ubernet. Pretty sure It's just a "You scratch my back" kind of advertisement.

    Not Uber's game though.

Rather boring game. Until you get rather high in level, it's really boring.

Good concept, bad execution overall IMHO.

Was fun until I ran into a few guys that were high teens/low 20's and couldn't even shoot at them before I died. Getting shot through walls/stones was pretty much the killer part. Collision detection is that hard anymore, eh?

I remember when you were streaming that a while back, with another guy from here on an untextured map. You guys were constantly dancing, it was great.

That's what made me lose interest, funnily enough. I might try it tho after watching a real take on it

I didn't see anything in the Loadout email about it being a free pass to the game, people are acting entitled again. Money spent to gain items in SMNC or back PA doesn't give you the right to betas of other Uber-partnered games.

It will be when it's released. It's the early access that costs dough. Don't know if there are still places where you can nail some keys left.

If I'm ever able to give out keys to anyone who wants it I will, I did it back when they had key giveaways and if they do another I can do it again

Never pass up a chance to be a condescending tool!

The email didn't explicitly say "THIS IS FREE", but it definitely gave that impression. Especially since it's in closed beta. I bought it anyway, since $20 isn't really that serious, but I definitely agree that the email was deceptive.

The words "purchase", "buy" or any synonyms thereof are no where to be found. What you do have is a paragraph announcing that "the upcoming shooter, Loadout, is now available on Steam Early Access." The banner across the top says "Uber Entertainment invites you to play Loadout" and there's a big yellow "PLAY NOW" button at the bottom.

Beta. Invititation. Play now button. But people are entitled for getting the impression that it would be free. Such a tool.

It explicitly states that Loadout is now part of Steam early access, a platform that gives you early access to various versions of a game provided you purchase a license.

Reading the thing you're mad about sure seems to be hard.

Or you can just make crap up.

There's nothing about Early Access games that intrinsically require a purchase price -- they can be free. But don't let that stop you.

And yet every single early access title currently requires you to purchase, funny how that works out. Whores can be free too, usually they're not.
