So I've been playing Sil recently

    And, being an Angband variant, it makes use of multiple windows.

    This got me thinking, now that multiple monitors are seeing more regular use, why don't other games use them? It's absurdly convenient having a window with your inventory, the messages, the stats of what you're observing, and all that other good junk on the screen.

    And it's pretty customizable. You can choose which windows you want up, and how big they are, and what have you.

    I'm wondering why it seems like Uber and Nintendo seem to be the only people capitalizing on this display format. And I'm not sure how far the PA muti window thing has gone so far since I haven't played in several builds.

    Anybody who plays the game knows how silly I'm being, but even people who hate ascii can understand the value of all those windows since they're labeled.

    So, what's the deal with no multi-window games? Seem like it'd be great for anything with a map or inventory.
