Grenade Launcher, Product Grenade, and Mortar are not counters, they barely work. Pulling it off in the middle of a match is just not realistic. In the case of the grenade launcher and product grenade you are relying on the grenade coming to rest right next to the trap after bouncing around. Mortars work terrible, they just aren't accurate against things on the ground at close range. Traps taken out by these weapons will mostly be random accidents.

Assault's Bomb and Support's Airstrike are the only two reliable ways to take them out.

Sniper rifle is a precision gun and it can detroy the traps. It could be the explosive procing that hits it, but you can. Trust me.

The classes that have the three skills you mentioned all have jetpacks, which is definitely a counter to traps. Also, if you can't blow up a trap with the mortar, your doing it wrong.

As far as the Product Grenade is concerned, I generally use it to distract the Sniper while I jump jet over the traps - the bomblets setting off traps is just a bonus for when I close the gap.

if you can't hit an ice trap on the ground with a mortar i'd hate to see you attempt to kill that sniper with the god damn mortar.....and yes Assault is the hard counter to a sniper, fly at him throw bomb, det and then finish with AR, easy as pie.....mmmmmm pie

Learn to kill a sniper from range if you discover they aren't dumb in using ice mines. Or if you are an assassin, you can drop down in right behind them in melee range then melee kill them with your bullshit backstab animation.

I have developed a false sense of security with using the mines, then I get RAPED by someone who is able to adapt and evolve their tactics.

Technically, the sniper's explosive rounds can destroy traps. I'm pretty sure that you can't shoot the traps directly, however if they are in the range of the AoE of the explosive round you can set them off. It takes more than one hit though, so it's a rare opportunity.

It's really something you shouldn't depend on. Any smart Sniper nows not to stand on his trap.

The chance of a smart sniper standing on his trap is very low, and, since you need to hit somebody with it to make an explosion, you have to get really lucky. It's just not something you should depend on

And you wrote your original comment like you can shoot traps with a normal rifle.
