As I said, my 4mbit line seems to not be able to play this game at all, on my 1mbit, I can load the map of 2 planets in about 5-10 minutes, on my 4mbit, it turn yellow but then it does nothing for the next 20 minutes and will just say lost connection.

So I just loaded a game and measured how much bandwidth was used on my system while doing so until it was green:
7,66MiB, downloaded at 500kib/s a short while after I joined the lobby.

That's more than what I would have expected, but not a catastrophic value even if you speed is only 100 kib/s

Now the game has started and I am watching a 3v3v3 of the AI currently at 8kib/s down and 0.6 kib/s up.
Gonna watch the meter for a while, let's see how this develops.

This is all including my whole system, so it may be a bit higher than what PA uses.

Awesome, 1mbit was able to load 2 planets of scale 2 in about 30 seconds, from red to green.

4mbit on the other hand froze at red and said connection lost after 20 minutes, I have done speed tests and tried multiple different games to see any difference. I was able to connect to lots of servers for Battlefield 2/2142/3/4, Call of Duty 4, Sup Com, Sup Com FAF, Sup Com 2, SPRING. All these games had no issue with servers from EUWest or anything similar.

Are there any ports I might have to forward, maybe it could just be a simple port being denied/blocked.

    So 1h 20min of a 3v3v3 AI game took 330MB of traffic overall, 319mb down 11mb up.
Most of the time it was at ~80kb/s, it never went beyond 100.

I don't know of any problems with ports and with all other games working it sounds even less likely.
But yeah ports are the only thing I could think of for that weird situation, too. Or something else that is different between the way you use those two connections.

Cybersmart is South Africa's fastest ISP, well, atleast that is how stats go by.
