Xeno I think GP did more for a competitive community than anything else at the time. I would think that since you claim to come from a competitive backing, you could understand how the arrogance could drive competition to beat them. Especially if you're coming from a Halo background, which had the same dominant teams for years, as well as the same cocky players running their mouths. It surely motivated me and I always felt they could be beat (GP). I know plenty of other people who share the "they're not invincible" mentality, regardless of how arrogant they could be.

I don't exactly feel like anyone in the competitve scene for MNC today shares the same view on what they wish to accomplish in the private matches. Everyone wants to win, but judging on your aspirations it seems like you wished to reach some sort goal.

Maybe you're right and some of the players feel like they have something to prove, maybe it's because their brains are still developing like you say. However from hosting and being a part of them for so long, the only vibe I get from players is that everyone wants to win, but play against good competition. From what I can tell, we mostly don't like going in groups and beating up people in pubs. We just don't find it fun.

sometimes you have chron, kckzi, shammas, and miracle, who provide a circle jerk of insults, but it's never something I took seriously. They mostly just make fun of themselves, but if they praise themselves, I'll just make them look bad next game. It doesn't make me want to stop playing privates completely. It's sad to see someone who did have potential be completely turned off just because one easily beatable team claimed they were the best, and had cocky attitudes.

I think you need to give credit to people in many ways

You got blitz mode players
You got crossfire public match players
You got competitve private match players
You got lol and troll players
You got your informative and teaching type of players

Everyone is good at something in some way shape or form
Some people hate private matches, some people hate blitz, some people hate pubs..

I used to hate pubs and privates because everyone hated me... I was banned from privates for a while. Oddly enough you can't bash xeno for who he is or what hes done because not many players in mnc have a video collection like his with such a following.
