This is exactly the problem. Face Grapples one hit K.O + ridiculous approach speed AKA Assassin Lunge. Face grapples is supposed to be punishing to assassins, not rewarding as backstabs is what they're supposed to go for, stalk the lone prey not rush into someones face, slash once and OHKO them, it ruins the rewards of OHKO backstabs when you can just OHKO face stab.

 They can do one touch grapple kills to two classes assuming they have zero armor/health upgrades. Everything else is just some damage where the Assassin then needs to make plans to get the hell away before the rest of the classes do their standard i-win responses. Face grapples are punishing to the assassin.

I have no idea why this thread is even made?... The Assassin is the EASIEST class to kill. If you die repeatedly by an Assassin.. instead of thinking they're too strong, consider that it may be your play style that's screwing you over.

Assassin's go right up to you, if thats not an Easy target, i don't know what is.

face grapples dont kill anyone except snipers, but snipers have great ways to avoid assassins, so dont even start...

I guess you never played support did you...?

    EDIT:
Btw those WAYS you mention are easily bypassed by one thing: Assassin Lunge. Assuming you were thinking about spamming freezetraps.

I play support quite a bit, they don't insta-kill... Plus there's a good amount of time to give them a shotgun shell to the face afterwards, usually ending in death for that assassin.

Assassin lunge doesn't always get through ice traps, if you stand far enough away from your trap, then there shouldnt be any way for them to get you. Also, when i play sniper I keep probably 2 traps towards the most likely way an assassin is going to reach me and my 3rd and last trap facing the other direction; if there is one.

As far as I know, without health endorsements, face grapples kill Assassins, Snipers and Support - and possibly Assault (though I run Silver health on each of them, so I might be wrong).

Also, as of today, you are the most annoying assassin I have played against so far XD
Good work. Kept me on my toes, and even blocked my Tank charges with Grapples :(

Most good Supports will be running at least Silver armor. Just offering that up.

Ever since they patched in the ability to see your killer's endorsements on the console version, it has shattered my notion that everyone runs silver or better armor. Seriously, everyone uses some sort of armor endorsement because of assassins, which forces good assassins to play smart, which in turn makes the horns that go on a unicorn or something.

As far as I'm concerned, back grapples are the risk/reward for an assassin. Yay, I get to kill the death machine Gunner. Oh wait, better make sure the coast is clear, like that heal-happy, shotgun nut of a support.

Still kind of new to assassin, but I'm learning.

I keep hearing about a lunge grapple, but i can't seem to figure out how to do it?
what skill do you need to buy up to use it? and is it main grapple or shurukin grapple?

The lunge grapple for the Assassin requires no skill upgrades to pull off although upgrading her passive will grant her with a stronger weapon.

To lunge with the Assassin all you do is press the reload button. The lunge grapple is exactly that you grapple after you lunge at an enemy.

*Forgive me for I have not played MNC on PC so I don't know the exact buttons to press.

Yea, it's the right button. Anyway.

Have you read some of the sin guides on the 360 strategy and tactics section? Most, if not all, of the strategies apply to this game. It'll prove really useful in the long run.

Other than that, you'll need practice. Specifically to how players behave in multiple situations, knowing your surroundings and aiming. On the PC, aiming is supposedly made easy. Still, you need to practice that so you can lunge the right way and not get killed. Since lunging is very linear and there is a clear range to it, you'll get shot by your enemy, which is a bad thing when you're grappling.

Surroundings is pretty easy to get, but since the field could change dramatically with one move of the enemy, it's crucial you know what's happening and what might start happening. But first just check your surroundings on what's happening around you. If you think you can handle it, start predicting what players might do.

Now, I have a question for you. What do you know about MNC? Not just say the basics, but the stuff you can do on the field.
