i figure uber had less time to work on aesthetics also nowadays gamers claim they aren't interested in graphics so long as the gameplay is good so that’s how it ended up.

my take is that Uber figured that it only worked up until a certain scale. the coms were too big to pull it off with. (also they got more love in)

they kept 'em simple to keep with the general aesthetic but alot of them have curvy bits. (and actually those stand out the most. have you seen the most expensive com in the armoury?)

I think at a certain size. being built up of blocks just isn’t viable anymore.

and I say this in full conscience of the block commander's existence (which you couldn't pay me to play with)

It's not graphics that matters, I know, it's aesthetics.

@squishypon3 you could add some more details on the model. Usually the human eye needs some "structure" / "texture" to perceive scale.

I think that I agree with the points that it looks a bit bland. For the regular units, not having extra textures is okay because they are so small, but in the case of this... monster, I think that it needs a lot of texturing love.

In order to avoid the SupCom feel of textures everywhere, would it be reasonable to adjust the model to help reduce the need of textures by adding in physical (ironic, in a virtual game) ones?

I believe it fires two ship weapons at the moment, it's aa works, and I'm not sure if aaall of the weapons work yet. Those are the two I know of.

At the moment it coats 100,000 metal and has 30,000 health IIRC.
