    hi again,

I think you hit it .. I was just about to resize all the defences again before release of 3.2 but then decided to scale up only the T2 ones .. but this won´t solve the whole problem. Additionally I think I will have to rework the fading colours around the inner symbols some more to add more contrast.

the main problem is .. after every scaling you have to check the icons ingame again to see if they got too blurry/pixelated

As for the moon testing o_O .. I try to use every biome before release but thats timeconsuming with 10? colours and over a hundred icons :p

well, personally I like the "stick out from icons" thing.. and never noticed that units fully disappear?
as for the white outline with white coloured icons .. I´m workin on that but the colours I can use are VERY limited through the shaders, I´d love to add more/different colours to the icons but as I said before, the shaders with their >}"0.002/-.. are a gordian knot for me and any help on that is very welcome.

    thx again for feedback!
expect a version 3.3 "soon" (if proeleert won`t kill me for that:D)

In my tests it's the standard earth template which best highlights any issues. Moons provide a lovely contrast so it looks great, while earth planets are bright and quickly reveal where things are washed out.

They don't yet. They're going to.

actually that's incorrect, it's an option in the settings since the beginning to be able to make their rendering "range dependent"

I haven't turned that on because i find seeing units on other planets from my planet makes me giddy inside.

It's not incorrect, Uber have stated in the live stream that they intend to have units disappear at the point where you're zoomed out enough that the strategic icon appears.

Not as far as I know, the unit continues to be rendered under the icon.

Currently units that are visible from recon and in the camera's view frustum are always rendered, always. Even if they're on another planet, or under a giant strategic icon.

Eventually we may hide units when they're smaller than the strategic icon, but we may also not if we can get unit rendering fast enough that it doesn't matter.

Maybe not related, but it is really cool when you ocationally see a big fight in the background ....on a planet .... from another planet.

.. wasn´t sure about the corners .. I thought it may be better readable if there is a blob of orbital and u can tell them appart not only by icon but by the corners too .. we`ll see :)

    thx 4 feedback

Is it possible to somehow hide or change the icons of a particular type of unit on the fly? That would make it possible to highlight orbital units by only showing their icons, making it easier to select them.

The icon atlas has one entry per unit type and appears to be live, so it should be possible to modify the icon for all units of a type and for all players.
