It sounds you messed up a json string. Why do you need to edit the import file, or where are you editing ? Does clicking the key like in screenshot not give you what you want
Nah I messed up energy storage JSON itself. Was going to report it as a bug, but it was because of my dabbling. I should have made that more clear or not said anything. Painkillers have fried my brain.
Aaah yes hotbuild settings reads some data from the unit json files So if you break them yeah bad things could happen ....
I think the best thing I broke was when I added an apostrophe to radar, saved, and the running game crashed.
Idea: Pressing a unit hotkey automatically selects only the units of those type in a selected group. Pressing ctrl-unit hotkey deselects only that type from group? e.g. select group, press GIL-E hotkey and snipe defenses.

Even just the deselect hotkey should be useful. That must be possible since uber's ui does it when you right click on the icon.
With the deselect you can actually do both things. Should be possible to do. @proeleert : check out the function onSelectionDisplayClick in live_game.js

Ok question is what should it do when there are multiple units under same key. Ex: dox, ant. If I press the key should it select all doxes and ants ? or Just the first unit type in the list ? Or If I press shift as well it should select all hmmm
I would say select all of that hotkey, e.g. I keep my artillery/AA/direct fire on one key each so it makes sense to select them. If you need more precise selection then you can click as per normal?

Video should contain following at least : Install mod from PAMM Set Community Defaults Show how to add remove rearrange items under keys. Show how to swap keys with pressing the selected key. Explain Import / Export Explain the hotbuild keys under keyboard (case insensitive) Explain the hotbuild settings under UI Show hotbuild in action Building factory with commander using hotbuild key. Cycling trough to build other buildings under same key. Point out the build preview ui + buildbar keys. Build a ImbaWall turret by pressing hotbuild key for turret then pressing alt and click. Show building units from a factory using hotbuild key. Explain nice trick : First press Requeue key to turn on infinite build then press hotkey 1 3 times then hotkey 2 1 times. Explain selecting units with hotbuild key from a larger selection (select doxes and ants from a bigger group containing a mix of units ) Use button to go to alert location. Use button to toggle energy usage on / off Use button to toggle pole lock on / off ------- Then I can put video on first post here cause it's a mess right now and don't have the patience to clean it up right now Or suggest good software to edit video so I can do it myself.
I've noticed that when I have hotbuild enabled in the mod manager, during gameplay I'm unable to use hotkeys for move, patrol, and attack orders. I can use them again if hotbuild is disabled or uninstalled. When I have combat units selected and press "a" on my keyboard to use the attack command, all of my units are deselected. Would you have any suggestions for a fix, or do you know of any mods that conflict with hotbuild?
