[REL] Chat Player Colours [57449]

Getting a colon for stuff I type in most recent patch. Possible to update?

It's on my to-do list, which is quite massive at the moment (in no particular order):

• Fix bugs in rFloatFrame mod
• Investigate issue with rCommanderHP
  
• Fix PAMM priority order bug
  
• Update PAMM to use new modding system
• Fix this mod
• Finish rFloatingUI mod
• Update released mods list

It's a good kind of busy though!

when i activate this mod, i dont see chat anymore. Installed via PAMM.

Known bug at the moment.

I hope this gets fixed I love this mod and would be one of the ones I always use.

I installed it from PAMM and it works fine?
I host a game vs AI, I can get the chat window up, and if I say something the text appears.
Are there more steps to reproduce it?

I've not been able to reproduce in a real game, but I found what was probably breaking and worked around it.
If we couldn't find the player that sent the message then the message would end up with just the colon, they'll get a white name now instead.

I think it might be in team games that it breaks? Didn't want to ruin anyones team games ATM to test.

I like the idea, but....

When I tried it I was unable to tell team chat from normal chat.
And some colors are hard to read on certain planets.

Maybe change the chat background from transparent to colored when you hit enter to look at the chat history?

That's very surprising, given they removed the secondary colours

From mucking around with the code for the favourite colour mod, it seems they are still there. Just not shown! It's a hidden feature now.
I haven't actually checked if the in-game models use them, but I suspect so.

The only player that is getting a color to show up is player 1. I guess I missed that before.

I had same issue was unable to see any messages in chat, disabled until fixed.

Yeah, this is broken with the current game version, ingame chat is completly gone. Only the username is visible after chatting. As an example:

Blablabla:
