As a running gag/joke amongst the old CFGU (Critical Failure Gamers Union) (no long exists as overhealed killed it) to be Members of Parliament/Noblity/etc

EhManana, my other handle, is a play on my favorite vehicle in GTA IV, the Manana, as everyone goes, "Eh, it's just a Manana" and then I manage to wreck face in races/etc with it.

I used to be Snaipur. The name got confusing after a while for obvious reasons, so I decided to change it. I grew to like Snapple tea at the time and after thinking about Mr.T, it hit me.

    SnappleT.

gluteusmaximums: I spelled gluteus maximus wrong and didn't notice it. As to why I wanted my name to be the medically correct term for asscheeks, I really don't know. Just thought of it on the spot.

Harry Tasker: This one actually has some back story to it. Was playing MW2 one night with some friends while shitfaced and my ingame nick at the time was Hank, fuckface (unlockable tag in MW2 was the phrase "Hi, my name is...." which in turn led to a My, Myself, and Irene reference). Anyways, unlocked a tag called True Liar after getting so many kills with a harrier so I used that tag and changed my name to Harry Tasker and it has stuck ever since. For those of you unaware, Harry Tasker is the name of Arnie's character in True Lies.

    Other nicks I've used:

knox: Used this for TFC, QWTF, nearly every game ever. I couldn't think of anything original and there's a city near me named Knoxville. Yeah.

Bobcat Twat: My friend was using the nick Wolf ***** (i dont know why) so I thought of Bobcat Twat.

do you even jelq: A combination of do you even lift and a night on mumble where I introduced the jelqing to Townes and bighappy which led to a series of terrible hip hop lyrics.

FayeReagan: Was the name of my Paladin on WoW. Back when I watched porn she was a favorite.

RyanBossling: Nick I used for my DK in WoW and most recently in D3,TL2, and PoE.

Not Harry Tasker: It was really me all along!

I used to call myself "Tarp Card!" when I played MW2. Partly because I used instant detonation C4s. It's actually the best grenade because it was an easy CQC nuke that could be detonated with tapping the F key, and you could easily live by going into cover a split second before you detonate.

In all my years on the net I have never used a nick other than 'whoismiked' or 'Deezy'.

Well sometimes I conceal who I am by using random fake names when playing some games, but my actually account names for everything (forums, games, ect) have always been my original.

Some interesting stories from some of you guys, thanks for sharing :)

uhh elaborate background to grimbar here

no really, I didn't think about it at all (only 7 days of trying to come up with a name that doesn't stupid and is also nice to look at aesthetically, the whole relation between the g and b glyph etc.)

Some years later I once pretended that it stood for grim imbalanced browning automatic rifle, but I never played a game where that was the case.

Got it after I devoured the heart of a man I killed by the name if Ien. Not really, don't remember where I got it from, but found out much later it was also the name of a beer, except I don't drink

Back when I was a pre-teen/young teen, I played a buildable action figure based battle dice game called Xevoz. Xevoz had an online parallel game where you would collect parts and battle your virtual figures figures (which I could only play at the library because I didn't have internet at home). The game, in an effort to prevent names like "Pornohitler", did not allow you to create your own user name; you had to choose from a list of generated ones. The name I selected was "Araxis Hammertoss GG-577."

Years later (2008? 2007?), when I decided that I wanted to standardize my name across all sites without reference to copyrighted material, I settled on "Araxis Hammertoss" with the idea that "Araxis" looked cool and was easy to say, a Google search (at the time) had no results for "Araxis" that wasn't me, and that a hammer provided easy branding. Unfortunately, the entire name is too long for most sites so it gets shortened to "AraxisHT."

Since then, a software package sharing my name, Araxis Merge, as emerged (pun intended), I've traveled through time to have a 70's disco theme song created and uploaded to Youtube in 2011, and people have started confusing me with the Planetside planet, Auraxis.

Prior to standardizing the name Araxis, I was best know as Toa Tahu (a reference to a different buildable figure system) or various references to Star Wars: Kights of the Old Republic.

Everyone still calls me Hubris in Skype, Mumble and etc. Haha.
