Don't worry I'll buy you a beer, you just have to come down to Kirkland to get it I think I'm buying Nyx some martinis tonight.
Van is almost loaded. Should be on the road tonight or tomorrow. Wont have internet again until Sept. 2nd, but then I get fiber . I have no problem driving to Kirkland. Would love to get a chance to meet you guys.
Well, on week without internet is not the end of the world. *thinks about it* HOLY ****!!! But seriously, my ISP messed up for one week at the beginning of the year and it was incredible how much I rely on it in my daily life. I did have time to read a few nice books though (Terry Pratchett FTW!!!)
I remember recently going on a trip for a week with little to no Internet access.... I think I read 6 books. I can vouch for Neutrino going nuts without access to the intertubes.
i'd go crazy (not that i'm not already) with a week without mental stimulation. typically that comes from the internet, but if i have a suitable distraction i'll fare quite well. that said; i make it a big deal to get a few hours away from the internet every day. the long bus trips between home and uni. are excellent for this, i've come up with my best ideas on the bus.
Well, it wasn't really a week. I have the internetz at GPG. And, yes, my phone has internet, but doesn't get 3G in WA. Need a new provider. The one I had was a local company in Mohave county, so I got 3G there and crap speed everywhere else. Now, I have 25Mb down and 15Mb up at home. I am a happy camper.
YAY! Welcome to Washington! when do you officially start work? and also if you didn't get a pass to PAX already don't plan on going, I hear they are sold out. you got here when the weather is nice too!
I started work this past Monday. They threw me right in. Apparently GPG has a booth at PAX. I am going to see if I can go run the booth for a few hours. If I get in I will reply back with details, maybe some of you can stop by and say hi.
He said Hi. Well, looks like I will be at PAX Sunday. I'll try to get there early and stick around for 3 or 4 hours (so 10-1 or 2). Stop by and say hi.
