Private Match Feedback (Players, how was it, etc)

    All you have to do on gunner is move forward and kill stuff until you die. And then you depend on your team to clean up the mess.
    It's not that it's frustrating to play, it's just that it's a very boring class and it's very limited by what your team is capable of, which in most cases is not much.

    Really loving the NO juice, and Ill practice my gunner so wildman does not have to go gunner everytime. Also (this really has nothing to do with juice) guys dont leave after 1-2 matches!! please lets keep them going for a good amount of time.

    Isn't it great? It's like playing a real shooter instead of keep-away every twenty seconds when someone buys juice. I also am liking the twenty min duration very much. Three black jacks for half the games duration eliminates a lot of overtime games. Also with no juice buying the games are usually won by the team with map control (when OT hits). One of the games I posted in that results thread at steel peel our team had huge stats with nineteen mins of map control. But they hit the last anni which pushed us back and we ended up losing in overtime. I personally still don't like overtime and would fight to the bitter and bloody end but I know we have to be reasonable in that we have enough trouble keeping players interested for longer than one to two games so if it's possible people would get bored somehow faster from a game dragging on too long then yeah, let's avoid that lol plus people like to get in a variety of games rotating maps, classes, and teams

    My excuse now for dieing :lol:

    Nah most of the time when I die it's because I purposely suicede to kill someone (usually Gunner) and hope to damage someone else as well. I also used to suicide on people with no deaths because they'll be able to buy juice, but know I don't have to worry about that anymore :D

    Can we try Spunky tonight if / when we do pm's?

    Spunky in my opinion is a bad map for pubs and privates, only one lane, you have your side and the enemy has their side, you cross one you are likely to die, easy to turtlee (specially with the no juice now) also all it would take to stop a bot push is one deathblosom (cz there is only one lane) or a sniper can just sit back with explosive shots and build easy juce while still kinda doing his job. Just my thoughts on that map.

    ^ Making the anni and ejectors main objectives, especially the enemies ejector by the middle bridge. Sure, turtling is easier but then it's a case of who can get juice and coordinate best with their team. No more 'I've got juice so I'll get a few kills' - now it's got to be strategically used. I'd love to see spunky on the playlist with bot buying off of course.

    I hate spunky. It's like both teams just camp their side until 1 person gets juice. Only the gunner and assault can cross through the middle without being instantly mauled. The ejectors make it too hectic, along with the frame lag related to millions of bouncers spawning every 5 seconds. Imagine that in a 20 minute game! And with juice and bot buying off, people will have plenty to spend on those annoying base turrets. Plus the one lane makes it so easy to defend, especially since it's also right next to the spawn. You may as well have 2 tanks and no assassin since neither team is getting in the other's base.

    I heard quite a few gripes regarding picks and stacked teams. Basically, when picks are done, they go like this;

    Captain 1 gets picks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
    Captain 2 gets picks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
    (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2)

    The gripe I heard a couple of times is that Captain 2 not only doesn't get the best available player that would be chosen first, he also gets the last available player which is often the weakest (assuming that both captains would choose the same people in the same order). Although you can recover with good picks based on class, it doesn't help to start behind the curve.

    Back when I was a kid our playground rule was "first and last pick". If you chose the first player, you also had to take the last one left. Basically, captain 2 would always make two picks in a row either at the beginning, or at the end. We would do something like this;

    Captain 1 gets pick 1, 4, 6, 8, 10
    Captain 2 gets pick 2, 3, 5, 7, 9
    (1,2,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1)

    OR

    Captain 1 gets 1, 3, 5, 7, 10
    Captain 2 gets 2, 4, 6, 8, 9
    (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,2,1)

    Really you could pull the "two picks in a row" whenever you wanted. This helped make up for not having the "best" pick by at least not having the "worst" pick and vice versa. Of course, this doesn't make up for just choosing poorly, but really nothing can help that. Just an idea. Thoughts? Too complex? Pointless given the competition? Hard enough to get picks going without throwing math into the mix? I have no idea.

    Good games last night. Nearly spawn killed Jeff as well :)

    One thing which I only see about 4 people do (Jeff, Chron, Shammas and myself), is that when you get 3 + kills. Go onto their spawn ring and try to spawn trap them. All you need is the Gunner and Assault on the spawn ring and the support setting up a firebase for them to retreat to. Last night I managed to spawn trap 5 people for a good 20 seconds whilst everyone else was camping in the middle waiting for me to die :( Apart from that the matches seemed fairly even.
