I've gotten hate as assault. Both of the "you have no life" and "stop running away you wimp" variety. Honestly I think it happens against sins more often simply because an assassin doing their job is incredibly frustrating to play against.
That is the point of guerrilla warfare though. To frustrate the foe, increasing the likelihood of them making mistakes.
Like you said, you are terrible with the other class's. why? because they require skill and tactics. Where as the assassin requires a 3 part formula 1) kill bots and build juice 2) juice turrets and MB 3) Buy juice when ever you have 500 You can mix in some (back stab anyone who looks away for 2 seconds) Face stab + smoke bomb for lawls, or lunge away and laugh as they try and kill you. And now you have mastered the Class. Honestly the Class is OP, people know it, loose to it, and get angry. I'm not surprised, I think ive died to an assassin maybe 10 times, and thought to my self (wow that was skill), the other times I think, (wow that was BS, OP, Broken, Abusive, Not earned). And thats not even the frustraiting part. The Frustrating part is watching an assassin wade in, lunge face grapple a gunner infront of 3 people, jump than lunge than smoke bomb than cloak than laugh, as 3 pepole couldnt kill him. So in short. When you master another class, come back and let me know how you feel about assassins. My guess? Youll realize how little skill what you are currently doing takes.
Done and done! On topic: I had a couple great rounds today as support, actually ended up making a friend rage on the other team. I didn't understand; he was killing me more and actually won the match but claimed the game was imbalanced against him. An intense competitive round seems to not be what he's into, I'm afraid. All three rounds we played together and apart were insanely close and really goddamn back and forth, so I don't understand why he felt so frustrated. I think this regen/armor/skill or armor/regen/skill support build is working really well, though. I definitely like it more than the standard rof/armor/skill build that most use. It really enters its greatness when you hit passive 3. Not that great for juicing but definitely makes you good at area control and survivability.
Can we stop using the word frustraiting. The proper word here is "pointless" If the enemy team has an assassin that kills Bots/turrets/mb, avoid pros and buys juice. And your team doesn't. Theres about a 90% chance you are gonna loose the game. No single class should have that much game changing ability. There is only one class that has the same bot/turret/mb damage, and its the tank. And guess what hes SLOW, has no cloak, no super jump, no escape mechanism (outside of charge 3, which is very limited) slower health regen unless you deploy which is not the same, and heres the real kicker, hes gains juice about 5 times slower. Not to mention gets 80% than gets WTF jumped with no ability to escape and has to start over. Frustraiting is playing against a great assault, playing against a great assassin is pointless, the only couter is to have one on your team to even it out. Than its see you in OT, which comes down to Assaults and assassins with juice.
I find that the rage I generate is almost directly proportional to how often I juice (some classes juice more frequently...). If I'm doing well and juicing frequently, then rage will flow forth. Like Cartman though, I feed off the tears of others. They provide a sustenance I could partake of indefinitely. Just because you haven't seen people raging on me doesn't mean they don't do it; they certainly do with some regularity.
I find this too funny. Have you ever tried just once shutting the assassin down yourself? It isn't hard to watch your bots on the side and kill the assassin in them. Dead assassins don't build juice. The only person to blame for an assassin chain juicing your team is yourself. Tank has slow health regen? You are doing it wrong. Tank gains juice 5 times slower!? You are REALLY doing it wrong. Two bot waves will fill a tank juice bar up unless you do it wrong like I am sure you do (loldeathblossom). If you are doing your job properly you are not slow as tank either since you have picked up speed endorsements in the bots you have been killing. Charge is all you need for escaping considering you should never be pushed so far in as tank that it cannot get you out of harms way; unless you are juiced. Lastly if you get "WTF jumped" you obviously need to pay attention to what is going on around you more. The only real frustrating thing in the game is reading complaints from people that are completely incapable of improving how they play and correcting their mistakes. It is also pointless to play if you refuse to improve and reflect on how you are playing wrong; it doesn't matter what classes you play or are against.
The entire reason why playing against a good sin is frustrating is because they're so damn slippery. Once they start taking damage they'll chain-lunge or smokebomb away. As an assault I'm decent at ringing even the best sins out with properly placed bombs, but they can still easily wreck forward momentum and then run away. Is it overpowered? I don't think so, it's just the sins doing what they do best. But it is frustrating to fight.
Tank is only slow if you're playing him badly. He only has slow regen if you don't upgrade his passive at least once. He's only gaining juice slowly if you're only using death blossom to kill bots, which is silly.
Well yeah, that makes the tank pretty much the best at wiping a huge built up wave of bots. It gives next to no juice gain, though, and if you're unharassed there's no reason to use it instead of just jet gunning them or even meleeing them(if you're feeling smug) for juice. The tank's safest ways to clear bots are understandably the ones that reward the least juice, with good reason. A tank on a mission can clear staggering quantities of bots in a very short period of time with his railgun and deathblossom alone! Use your product grenade 3 or your jetgun and you'll find you get much better results in the juice gain department. Meleeing is really effective, though. I got accused of hacking earlier today by meleeing a jackbot in overtime for juice and shot gunning their money ball to death while they were still contending with the team mates in my base.
I just broke 1000 wins today. Mainly because I have tiger blood. With that said... Tank is a juice monster. If left alone in a lane deploy is by far the best juice building mechanic in the game. A single wave of bots walking by you will net you 40% juice or better if a blackjack punches you. Then, like Mail stated, you can melee them down for even more juice. One and a half or two bot waves = full juice bar and a rape train about to leave the station. As far as tanks health regen...I use gold health regen endorsement so I dunno what you crazies are talking about it being slow. @DehydratedWater They simply do not know that melee basically gives you a juice box per swing. Much like they don't know tank builds juice off damage deployed or gunner deploy slows the movement of anything it hits.
Tank's don't gain juice from damage while deployed it is simply based on how many times he is hit. An easy way to test this is lure a lone gremlin to you and deploy. Watch that little give you a full juice bar in under 30 seconds.
Middle mouse button, gogogo! I was surprised too because grappling seemed all too melee enough already.
