would you want an option for capping units in the hosted games settings that is disabled by default?

    well i'm sure people who play on offline with their laptop wouldn't mind if we hurt the oh so sacred quote a little bit.

    I said yes, but only as a mod option.

    Not going to be happy about capped lobbies unless it's a huge number, like 5000.

    again by default off. newbs will never find the option end then again since when have newbs been known to think rationally?
    had they found it they would have left it off.

    Considering I have a compy that can handle big games, I'm gonna say know. However if I saw this a year back with my archaic rig, I can see the validity in limiting the numbers of units to avoid performance issues.

    I want a planet cap more than a unit cap, but I'm in support of a unit cap to get the game under control and so the servers can actually handle it.

    Another thing needed is a way to disable certain units & buildings, like disabling nukes.

    This pole isn't exactly fair. For one, the people on this forums are the vast minority of the population who play Planetary Annihilation. Not only that, but most people advocating for unit limits to never exist are the multiplayer elite. Whereas most of the population plays this game in singleplayer against the A.I. where pop cap is probably needed most. The pole should read "Who would like pop cap as an option for theater of war and A.I. skirmishes."

    I'd argue it's the exact opposite - I play nearly exclusively against the AI and argue that unit caps are not necessary.

    dude don't panic the yes option has already caught up, give it a day or two. I'm a multiplayer only, I have a better CPU than anyone else on this forum and yet I STILL support capping.
    please tell me there is another way to read this then "I've decided to be selfish now".

    In how many games do you reach 5000 units?

    I checked your last 5 team games and two long FFAs. Maximum number of units your team had: 1350.

    Then why do you care? It's an option, don't turn it on. Problem solved doesn't bother you ever. For those who hate slide show games we might like an option to play the game not as a slide show.
