As i said, a well placed shaveice will help. You can also deny me the ejectors at a cost to yourself. But none of this makes up for a team that doesn't react appropriately to threats on thier side of the field.

Spunky is just bad because you don't even need your bots up there to engage the other team's bots. Just continually spam the middle area under annihilator and no traction will ever be made by either team. Regardless of the presence of an assassin/tank/whatever at bot spawns. One person can control both lanes on each team. Adding more players just adds more spam. Even if you die you still get ages to re-engage the bots to stop any progress and you can do it against both lanes.

It's a bad map favoring nothing but spam. You pretty much need a catastrophic failure on your team to have any chance of losing. Like 2-3 consecutive juice runs in their base killing the whole team as they spawn each time bad. Even then all it takes is one use of the ejector and you are back even.

You don't even need turrets to defend.

I don't know much about the whole stalemate thing, as it rarely happens for me (maybe I just play with more random people). But what annoys me the most about that map are the BOUNCERS. It's more like Bouncer Arena if anything.

I like Spnky Cola... probably for the reason most people hate it. Unlike all other arenas the action is centralized on the middle ground. This of course means less flexibility and a more dominant superiority of the team that is just "better", but still the arena does have some mouseholes for flanking tactics. It's small, compact and right to the point. Small room for tactics, lots of action.

I couldn't think of an arena I really don't like.

Is the new map available yet? I'm still in Boston from going to PAX, so I haven't been able to actually play since then

It seems pretty interesting. A lot of jump pads, very vertical, a lot of possible routes, and few long-range possibilities. The bot spawning was also set up very differently from normal at PAX, but they said that was just experimental

It's not. Did you get a chance to play or see the map being played?

    Played it

The center where the annihilator and juice dispensers are has a bouncy floor

I believe that all bots go on one path, and the two sides actually poss each other going around the center ring. Between the bases and the center ring are long, sloped, narrow, enclosed tunnels. There are four multi-level towers overlooking the center ring, with multiple ways into each.

There are jump pads that can send you halfway across the map, straight from spawn to the center

The respawn room doesn't lead to the ring above the moneyball. Instead it leads to a small platform with buttons for spawning blackjacks, slims, and jackbots. These were free and seemed to be the only way for the second bot gate to spawn anything. Between the respawn and moneyball were four more bot spawn buttons for bouncers, gapshots, gremlins, and I forget the fourth. These were also free and each had a separate and different cooldown time (gapshots seemed the longest). They said this whole setup was experimental.

Maybe I just didn't see it, but it didn't seem like there was any normal way to get on top of the moneyball ring. In addition to the fact that the respawn doesn't lead there, I think this may give even more of a moneyball advantage to assaults and assassins who can bomb or smoke bomb jump up there.

Sounds like they're going to get filled with shurikens and assault bombs.

List of my favourite maps in order of best to worst.

LazerRazor, AmmoMule, Grenade 3, Spunky Cola, Steel Peel

I really loath Steel Peel, but LazerRazor and AmmoMule are a delight to play.

Lazer Razor > Spunky > Ammo Mule > Steel Peel > G III

Short line of sights below gives short ranged players a chance to be deadly without being mowed down before they get close/get away.
Up top provides longer lines of sights, for snipers and long range classes.

You say what I think better than I can say it. Glad someone could articulate why I dislike G3.
