Your computer is capable of running Win 7 or 8 - 64bit.
The core 2 duo processor is 64bit capable

Im going to have to wait. The operating system is around 100 dollars. If I wait I can get a dell XPS on sale for around 550 for chrismas with new video card, ram , etc. I might try to use this temporary fix from the link you guys supplied.

    https://forums.uberent.com/threads/crashing-on-32-bit-windows-heres-a-guide-to-help.51990/

But Im a little confused. I went into regedit and when I checked that value of o or 1 i think i was reading it right.
it was 0x00000001 (1) meaning a value of 1 which from what I understand the PAE is enabled.

Now Im confused on what to do next. If someone can tell me a step by step for dummies so I can better understand the rest of the directions. I would say a BIG THANKS!!!! This is what I was confused about >>>>>>>Continue here if you skipped past enabling PAE.

Next thing you need to do is enable 4GB Tuning (4GT) via the /3GB switch. If you're on Windows Vista or 7, use bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072 to enable it. If you're on XP, go back and follow the above instructions for enabling PAE, except add /3GBto the boot.ini file.

    you need to goto start
    click run
    type cmd
    press enter
    black window appears with c:\blahblahlblah

    when there type this
    bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072

Well bad news it crashed again. If I do the upgrade to Windows 7 32 bit will that be enough to run the game? I just want to click and do a upgrade since Im not comfortable doing a fresh install of a windows 64 operating system. Again I have 4gb ram , nvidia GTS 450, with a Intel Core Duo CPU E8400 2.99 GHZ.

It's pointless to upgrade to 32 bit, you'll still have the same problem. 64 bit is needed.

you will also note that uberent states minimum system spec/addition specs still to be established.
I'm sure when the game goes through the optimization process this will stabilize and more likely function better on 32bit OS's
Would also like to note your below minimum specs which is 4gb of ram when you only have 3.3gb available to use.
Had your system been a desktop with a dedicated Video card it would be more likely to run without crashing on a 32bit system.
also if you had a dedicated video card you would have your full 4gb of ram to use not 3.3gb

to find out how much ram your system has thats useable, click start then right click on "Computer" goto properties
it should pop up a window there it will tell you how much of your ram is Useable plus other vital system specs.
if it's less than 4gb then you will have issues as you need atleast 4gb minimum

ahh my bad, when i read the directx file i seen similarity's to laptop i had it was XPS laptop :( lol

I hope we find something that helps get you into the game..
im sure your computer is just under or just on minim specs it should run, its close enough.
my current computer is a tablet pc with similar specs but i have the 64bit OS, it may be why it run on my system so well.
i do recommend upgrading/re-installing a newer 64bit version of windows, not just for playing PA but for general improvement on system performance an enjoyment .. lol

stability will improve the more dev's get crashes from clients
your crash data or crash log is automatically uploaded, so hopefully most issues fixed ASAP :)

If you like fiddling about with your computer there are 64bit linux compatible with PA. I can not say if this will solve your problem but maybe someone else in the thread can. My PA experience so far is limited to a few windows cpus, but I will be playing on linux in the future.

no any 64bit upgrade is a format and re-install , you will need to backup all your important stuff.
its still an upgrade, it just needs to remove everything and start fresh, 32bit and 64bit OS's can't use the same boot loader i think.
boot loader is at the start of drive and can't be changed without wiping the drive as far as i know.

    ---edited---
this is why the anytime upgrade shows only 32bit upgrades as an option as its the only way to upgrade while keeping all your data

I just ordered Windows 7 64 bit Professional and I ordered 4 sticks of 2 gb ram a piece to give me 8 gb of ram for my system. Hopefully this solves my problem so I dont have to spend 1000 on a gaming desktop when mine is still good. Do you guys think I will have any problems? Im upgrading from windows vista home 32 bit (im actually doing a fresh install)

after 64bit windows install it will work,
with a 64bit os and your current hardware you should be fine
, the extra ram is just candy for you, bigger planets more planets in a system :)

If you upgrade to windows 8 the task manager is a great way to view how much ram each program is using.Your PC can handle windows 8. It's best to wait to get a new computer than upgrade. :)
