Players being able to shoot moneyball down without bots

    I'm pretty sure that we left the ability to do a small amount of damage on purpose but Scathis is the only one that really knows. I'm sure this will be a topic of discussion at Uber though.

    Usually I tend to disagree with these "change this and change this pl0x" threads, but this one I agree with. It defeats the purpose of the game if pros can take down the ball. I understand hacking their rockit turret would bring it down, and I like that. But pros should not be able to take down the moneyball themself

    That is great news. It did seem like something that undermined the great concept you guys had with this game mode. This should bring strategy in the game to another level entirely. Kudos again!

    Yes a small amount of damage to the money ball's shields does transfer. It was in there so we can up our damage greatly in debug mode and take down the money ball for testing without the need for bots. It was left in unintentionally.

    That said, it's not easy to take it down with gun fire. Play some defense and this should not be a problem. :)

    It can be pretty hard to organize a team of pubs to do anything and one player just doesn't stand a chance against 6 people working in unison in the first 3 minutes of the match.

    That could be said for any team of six using any effective strategy in unison versus any team that doesn't work together.

    That's true, but even an organized team can be taken down if they aren't playing the game mode the way it's meant to be played and escorting their bots/destroying the enemy's bots.

    Thing is the bots are ONLY for the money ball, that is their only purpose in MNC, it's not like they can kill players by themselves.

    Except maybe a Jackbot against a newbie...

    I still get knocked off the map by a Jackbot occasionally...it happens more often in Overtime when there's not much space between the money ball and the infinite void beneath the arena.

    Yeah, I wasn't going to come right out and say it but I would like to hear a fix is on the way. Especially with the new system you implemented to fix things like this without patching the game.

    We can fix certain balance issues without issuing a patch. We can't fix inherit bugs like this.

    There will be future support, give us time the game's only been out for 4 days. ;)


    Bots are also on the map to focus the players on specific areas of the map to create conflict and to be a source of money and juice.

    Good to hear that this isn't supposed to be here, and that it will probably be changed.

    It usually isn't a game breaking problem, but when coupled with spawn camping it can be trouble.

    Here's how I've seen it done, a gunner will use his jetpack jump to get on top of the exits of the spawn room, and from there kill any players coming out or just shoot the moneyball.

    Usually an assault will also be there on the upper ring as well, the players see him, charge at him, and get shot down by the gunner they can't see.

    The gunner always eventually dies, but usually buys the assault enough time to bring the shields down.

    Using my coordinated team of people with 6 mics. Me playing support to my Gunner, we have been able to end games in 2 minutes flat by shooting down the MB shields.

    Problem with this is that it causes rage quitting horribly, so half the time we don't paid because the host quits. :evil:

    So sometimes we mess around making the other team believe they have a chance so the host won't quit.

    So what I guess I'm saying is please fix it. Can't enjoy a match in only 2 mins. :(

    I was really on a gaming high with this game, but this news really leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth. Not only do I have to be weary of enemy teams rushing the ball and ending the game in a couple minutes now, but it feels as if I'm not playing to win unless I'm doing the same.

    So it's in the game permanently?

    I think he meant is that they can't fix that on the fly, like they can some other things. They will have to release a patch for it.

    Ah if that's the case I misunderstood then. I can wait for a patch, certainly hope they decide to fix it eventually :)
