    Idea: Temporary planetary shields that you have to time right (IE they activate in 20 seconds, with random orbits its randomish enough), when you do, if they hey during that 5 seconds or so, boom they wasted their planet.

    considering the annihilaser is way to op, we need shields that reduce the impact and power of the beam. Its way too op.

    Either that or just nerf the beam so it acts like an unblockable nuke (that needs energy) and doesn't annihilate completely (maybe it could be supercharged to facilitate this
    as an end game option). Screw shields do this:

    -) make it use energy, lots of energy. (catalysts can store energy)

    - two firing modes, one requires substantially less energy but causes devestation and not obliteration.

    or

    -) Annlazer has to charge, can be fired at any time after catalysts completed with scalable results.

    charge 1%, 2%, 3%.

    when selecting planet to barbecue, red circle represents how much of the planet around beam touch gets obliterated. If circle is complete goodbye... Smaller planets require less charge to wipe out naturally, 100% charge always annihilates.
