Signed up because I saw/heard about this in Planetary Resources' G+ Hangout and this looks like the best place to ask.

Any details on what pre-order tier PR backers would be equivalent to? Would we get early access at all, or any of the extras, or just a retail copy at release? And if just a retail copy, could we conceivably upgrade?

It's just a retail copy and it won't be upgradeable because by the time it goes out the game will already be released so there isn't a point to the upgrade.

I backed the Arkyd telescope thanks to Mr Mavor making me aware of it, and now I've just had an email from them that says (amongst other things) that $99+ backers of the space telescope get a copy of PA thrown in too. Nice tie-in gentlemen, very nice!
